  • Sorry that chip doesn't amuse me.

  • WOW!!!!! who would want to buy that

  • this thing overheats like shit seriously

  • I just got mine today & I hate the touch & keypads.

  • it overheats

  • if you want nightmares after nightmares, buy an hp.

  • hp isn't that bad i have an hp and it works fine

  • I have a problem with my HP pavilion dv2 Laptop.

My laptop lcd screen was broken. So I cant see what happen

in my windows. So I just connect to another monitor screen to my laptop then I can see it now...

The problem is.. I want to re-install new windows. But my monitor screen wont show anything before login into the WINDOWS.. so I cant see the BOOT screen..

    anyone can help me??

  • i just found out this dv2 has a big desgn flaw...theres only one ram slot . A single 4 gig ram cost around $200. The strange thing is the dv2 has second ram slot thats non functional...what the hell was hp thinking? HP obviously didnt want the consumer to do their own ram upgrading...well they lost a big chunk of their customers.

  • My DV2 does just have one ram slot...

  • thanx for clarifying the processing power

  • it does not include a dvd drive but if u buy at best buy it includes an external hardrive for dvds

  • yes it does. It was free when my friend bought it

  • no cd drive

  • it actually comes with an EXTERNAL cd drive, which is nice for portability but its also a hassle

  • Some comments say it doesnt have a CD drive. Is this true cause it could change my discion.

  • it has no cd drive

  • does it have a CD Drive?

  • Fuck i'm AMD user and now i regret for my lfie that i actually buy'd a Intel based netbook when i could get this hot laptop with AMD

  • I'm getting this with dual core AMD and it came to $574.98 on HP's site.

  • It is but it doesn't include the DVD drive which I think that doesn't really matter but it's Free lol... However on HP would get 4GB Free upgrade and duo core but the Tax is 48+ which is totally got it killed... I just got the moonlight white one for 549.99 + $50 rebate which makes it 499.99 for the Single core and 2GB of RAM...

  • Dude there is a dual core version amd neo turion x2 soooo nooo ur wrong it smokes other processors also i have the single core one and runs crysis warhead native resolution no lag with eferything mainstream imagine dual core version!

  • lol its funny the way he talks..

  • cooll laptop!!!

  • i saw on the commercial that you can play the xbox 360 games on there. but he didnt mention that. is it true you can?

  • He fails to mention the Atom cpu is 32 bit were the AMD Athalon Neo in the DV2 is 64 bit. I have a feeling the default OS install is only 32 bit right now so restricts how fast the machine runs.

  • Some Pros:

    1) Ability to address memory amounts over four GB, and up to 16 exabytes

    2) Allowing for the addressing of more of RAM, 64-bit processing can improve video encoding and decoding, CAD, VMs and some other applications.

    Some Con's:

    1) One disadvantage of 64-bit architectures is compared to 32-bit architectures the same data will occupy more space in memory (due to larger pointers and possibly other types and alignment adding). (and - of course - on disk)

  • this guy sucks, i always watch his stupid reviews, why doesn't cnet fire him

  • i like this laptop because it has amd hd graphic which is 512 MB. Game Time. <3

  • Well..it's good for games like solitaire and minesweeper I guess.

    Anything bigger than that....</3

  • (1) Athlon Neo is a K8 based processor.

    (2) This platform is codenamed "Yukon" by AMD. The upcoming dual-core version is codenamed "Congo". (They are also going to use the 780G chipset).

    (3) Intel is responding to this platform with their own called Consumer Ultra Low Voltage or CULV. The upcoming Acer Aspire TimeLine series is based on this platform.

    (4) Intel's CULV will be based on ULV versions of Core 2 Duo running at 1.4Ghz...Will come in single and dual-core variants.

  • Reviewer fails to mention that the DV2's Radeon 3410 graphics processor is much faster than your basic entry level notebook that would cost about the same. In the end though, I think this unit should be about $100 less than where its at right now.
