My uncle got killed by an ied on his way to help pinned down marines. He never got there and because of that 5 of the 10 marines were killed by insurgent snipers.

@thanksmanny Sorry for loss, I'm not here to boast on my service or anything, but I've seen countless men get shot, most killed, most my friends. One lived in the same town as I did, the initial shock is too much. I can relate, we were apart from a large part of our regiment in Afghanistan, on our way to regroup we heard fire from insurgents, to keep this brief a few of my good friends died seeing that me and some others made it. Your uncle was a brave man, I salute him.

im a female in the irish army and have been overseas twice. both times i was over there we all became a family. yes we needed comfort but never anything as extreme as what your getting at. most nights we all just sat and talked about what was going on. women have just as much place in the military as men do
now im not sexist or anything but a part of me beleives that most women do not belong in the military ,war is hell but some times its a nessesity that must take place,, when you put , men in that siuation of nothing but hell they are going to find some comfort, either with the fact they have to take a life or with a women ,,,
I'm female, and I married a soldier in the 82nd AID (HOOAH), Truthfully very few women who could do the physical work . Their ruck sacks weigh 50-100 lbs, depending on MOS, not incl. the uniform, protective gear, and weapon. Sometimes they let us go with them, carry their gear, fire the weapons, and jump out of the tower in full gear. I could barely do it, I was slow enough, that in combat I would have been dead, and that includes prior Air Force training myself. It's not sexist, it's realistic

I've lost an good friend of mine on saturday the third of July in 2010. He was an nice mate and a really good friend. His son will see the light of live in 2 month. It's like in an bad movie.
I'am from Germany as well as my friend who died in afghanistan...it honors me to know him and i'am proud of him. He gave the ultimate sacrfice he could give and i'll always will remember him as an brave soldier und outstanding friend...rest in peace my brother....the day will come when we see us again

A deacon from our church was a Navy Corpsman, he was shot in the head through the window of his HUMVEE.
I feel awful because I can't even remember his name :(

i didnt get the chance to see anytime overthere before my medical discharge from the US Navy hooyah! i was a hospital corpsnman, training to go FMF, and run with the marines, but i got hurt before i left and the drs found a tumor on my leg, but i still support the troops and thank them for everything they do! as to my friends over in Iraq as i am writing this, i miss you all. keep yalls heads up and come on home so we can all get drunk together!!!

My uncle got killed by an ied on his way to help pinned down marines. He never got there and because of that 5 of the 10 marines were killed by insurgent snipers.
My uncle was a sniper that was a proud soldier and may he rest in peace.

@thanksmanny Sorry for the loss. war is hard but the only way to make it out of it is to keep moveing on. im going in the army Marines wont take me for my high school is on line dep. but im still happy to join. iv lost alot of good friends in iraq and afghanistan. one was a good high school buddy of mine. and the other was someone id hang out with who lost his life from an ied well on pratrol.

@thanksmanny Sorry for loss, I'm not here to boast on my service or anything, but I've seen countless men get shot, most killed, most my friends. One lived in the same town as I did, the initial shock is too much. I can relate, we were apart from a large part of our regiment in Afghanistan, on our way to regroup we heard fire from insurgents, to keep this brief a few of my good friends died seeing that me and some others made it. Your uncle was a brave man, I salute him.

My husband is in the military, we were not misled. It's because of his (and others like him) sacrifices that you have the freedom to have your opinion and I respect your right to do so. We do not live with the threat of mass violence and terror the way the people we go to protect do but if it ever comes to that, God forbid, just put a sign in your window that you don't support the military, I'm sure they won't mind skipping your house when they're serving for your neighborhood.

i feel great sorrow for all mislead by the murdering military. people enlist for the money and believe are going into an honorable career. unfortunately, it is much too late when they discover the dishonor of becoming a submissive, obediant, mindless, slave, taught to murder on command. if you think the military is honorable, why are there 18 suicides by veterans each day? why are 1 in 4 homeless veterans? boycott the military. dont join, dont let your family, friends, or anyone you know join.

No offense to anyone... It does not matter.. Guard, Army, Reserve, Navy, Coast guard, AirForce or MARINE... All of those men and soldiers are over there fighting the same war. Think about it does one deserve more respect then the other. God Bless them all for they are all soldiers. Im sorry if I offer offense to anyone in the marines. But thatmakes me angry . my dad was in a humvee w/ his buddies when an ied went off next to it.....he was the only one that survived, and im grateful for it.but imagine, all your buddies were in the same car as you and they all died....and you lived.....

im a female in the irish army and have been overseas twice. both times i was over there we all became a family. yes we needed comfort but never anything as extreme as what your getting at. most nights we all just sat and talked about what was going on. women have just as much place in the military as men do

I'm female, and I married a soldier in the 82nd AID (HOOAH), Truthfully very few women who could do the physical work . Their ruck sacks weigh 50-100 lbs, depending on MOS, not incl. the uniform, protective gear, and weapon. Sometimes they let us go with them, carry their gear, fire the weapons, and jump out of the tower in full gear. I could barely do it, I was slow enough, that in combat I would have been dead, and that includes prior Air Force training myself. It's not sexist, it's realistic

I was in the military... I was sexually harrased on more than one occasion.... I also didn't finish my original enlistment, but I recieved an honorable discharge.

Nearly 1/3 of all females in the military report being raped and 60% report being sexually harassed. Over 90% of all females that report a sexual assault is discharged from the military before her contract ends. From the 90%, around 85% are discharged against their wishes. 74-85% of soldiers convicted of rape or sexual assault leave the military with honorable discharges.
