  • Great video! Very inspiring

  • Boy the horse knew you were trying to help it.

  • I had something like that on my ankle after i fell down a rocky hill. It was like a giant black bruise filled with blood jelly. Ahh it felt so good after it was gone!

  • poor horsey, i hope she feels better );

  • The puss and blood is so graphic.....lol

  • omg my horse has that but its a wee bit smaller :S

  • I love how i can clearly see drops of puss falling down

  • you cant stitch an abscess shut you idiot. they have to be left open to continue draining or they close and fill back up with puss. he drained that abscess exactly the way he should have, and just like any vet would have. i have had horses all my life and my mother is a vet assistant, so i have seen many many abscesses drained. get your facts straight before you make uneducated comments. that looked like a pigeon fever abscess, and they have to be drained. @MissEllisHinch

  • @MissEllisHinch I would love to have a nice big glass full of that I bet it taste good .

  • @stoolet

    Your sick.

  • Was all that blood, or was other fluids mixed in? I am curious because i horse had one before and i was wondering if it was like a big bloos bruse or something..??

  • So you finally realised that gloves are useful and not just for wusses? Congratulations!

  • ok once a horse is drained what do you do do you give a shot of antibiotics i had a horse that was kicked in the hock and caused an abscess we had to drain it and pump him full of antibiotics and it still ruined him for riding so he was just my pet :) i know it is alot different but i am looking after a 19 year old i knew my horse was in alot of pain so if this happens to the new horse what do you do after its drained

  • Yes finally someone uses gloves

  • @blacsmiff omg right? lol

  • so what happens with all that excess skin left?

  • OMG. The noise at the end. ewh. My horse had this last year due to a kick. I phoned the vet next day as it was huge and she said leave it alone it will go down itself. 2 days later it started going down. No need to drain!!

  • eww...thats so nasty....but i suppose it had to be done!

  • That does not look right.....

  • vampire num nums

  • ugh that noise at the last part makes me wanna puke...uuugh

  • om nom nom

looks like a peeing vagina xD

  • poor thing.

  • my dog had the same thing on her ear

they are soo much better after its drained

did his/her skin go back to normal shape

  • wiederlich....:O

  • The last part sounded so relieving.

  • good job i hope he/she is better the only thing i would suggest is maybeing putting a bucket or something under and then throw it away

ive heard that blood attracts cyotes and then they will stay for a while

  • 2:30 shop shop shop

  • @fixnorm what???

  • @aguirreruru

    the sound

  • I have had days in the bathroom like that 2:33 to the end. One word IBS.

  • 2:34 delicious

  • 2:35... delicious

  • That poor thing MUST have been so uncomfortable with all that inside it's chest...

  • sounds like pee

  • wow, the horse did a GREAT job of standing there and taking that! Good girl!! I hope she's feeling much better now.

  • are you a fully qualified horse vet?

i always wanted to be a horse vet!

im doing my final year in school now, but i dont have the subjects for vet scince, i tryed but chemistry and high maths was too difficult for me.

so im hopeing to do vet nurcing, specialise in emergency then specialise in equine

i really look upto vets, so i really want to thank you for making this horse more healthy and better :)

have to admit though, the sound at the end was gross lol but i can stand blood and stuff

  • looks gross.. .guess its good for the horse tho.

  • i dont have a horse, but similar thing happened to my dog a month ago.

he got a thumb-sized fluid sac on the right side of his neck.

Operation done was similar and the fluid was sucked out with a syring.

it's black, looks like sewage !

  • omg at the end when he was gettin the blood cot out that was gross as hell

  • omg if the kick made a hema that bad imagen what it would've been like if the kick drew blood...oh man ive never seen on that BIG on a horse before

  • thats puss rite?

  • Blood. Hence the "hema-".

  • oh wow! the sounds alone... hope he feels better!

  • must have felt so good to get that pressure out!

  • he should feel beter poor baby

  • my boxer has one on her ear... its really scary cuz the vet said that we cant drain it like that or the scar tissue will swell up big and cause the ear to become blocked. but the surgery will cost 1000$ so we are going to see if it will heal on its own. :/

  • it shouldnt be that expensive, i suggest going to another vet or priceshopping

if you dont get it treated they could get "cauliflower ear", where the ear just looks rediculous and can do what the doctor mentions, look up incison drainage procedure, its where they make an incision and then suture the ear walls to themselves to get rid of dead space but leaving the incision open (o.o sounds confusing, i can find a link if ur unsure)

its a pretty minor procedure, and shouldnt be that expensive

  • Do you only work with horses?

  • oh thankyou!

  • are you a veterinarian?

  • Yes he is. In his other videos he replies back stating he is a Veterinatarian.

  • Same thing happened to my horse, in the smae place. Thankfully, it wasn't that big!

  • my horse had the same happen to him and then it turned in2 a bone infection so he had surgery and the vet nick a vein and some of the infection went in2 the flesh and he had 2 fight it himself its took 8 months to get better and its still healing nw ur horse was lucky it healed ok blessxxxxxxxxx

  • The sound it makes at the end was so gnarly!

  • Its amazing to see how big those lumps get and how much fluid they carry. If left untreated what might happen to the horse, do they turn cancerous?

  • If the hematoma is not very serious, and in the chest area, they can drain fairly easily through the lymphatic glands.

  • How aware of what you're doing do you think the horse was? And do you think the horse felt better once the abscess (?) had been drained, as in was it uncomfortable or painful until you took care of it? In any case, good job. I hope it healed up w/o infection or other problems.

  • Since she was sedated and blocked(numbed) she wasn't aware to what we were doing. According to the owner she felt much better the next day. If it was smaller we would have left it, but the bigger hematomas do better once drained, being careful not to introduce infection. She's doing great and healed up fine. Thanks for you comment.

  • The horse thank you.
