If I recall correctly, H. Hayashi (PiXEL) who happened to be the original character designer for Valis, was indeed quite upset over what happened to Valis. I once found a discussion on a Japanese site (maybe it was PiXEL's website? I can't remember now) where PiXEL was discussing his feelings. Mind you, I had to run the page through Google Translate, (which is far from perfect), so it's a bit hard to understand what's going on. Once I find that page again, I'll upload the link here.
I just can't believe that Telenet wanted to do this. They should at least made a Valis V, but NO. They had to remake the first game and turn it into a HENTAI. I Totally agree with you, Valis 77. Thanks to this company going out of business, there is NO more WOLF TEAM, CD-Laser Soft, Riot, and Telenet games. I loved all of their Sega Genesis releases. This company was the LAST small unknown game company in Japan. Now, the FAMOUS ones have completely taken over.
This is wrong it should've never happend. This was a perfectly good series but now its been reduced to the lowest form of gaming. I don't know what the hell these people were thinking and I've seen major (for lack of a better word) bastardisaitons of gaming francises but this one takes more than just the cake. Its official VALIS IS DEAD!
Agreed. There's a difference between the fanservice we saw in the 80s/early 90s series, which was really no more than you'd see in an anime of the era, and this. As a fellow Valis fan, I can only mourn with you *Pours a 40 on the curb*

Well, you have to admit, with the scantily-clad anime girls even at the start of the series, it was kinda heading in this direction.
But still, they seriously and literally whored out the series.
