  • I cry every time is see this vid, I feel for the people who lost so much. my god be with you all,

REST IN PEACE. ;-( keep up the great work you do, Love all your video's

  • Its amazing what destruction can do to a community, let alone a country, WHY does it take something like this for humans to WAKE up. All the best a year on and may all involved get some peace.

  • I find the phrase, kindness of strangers a bit odd. In australia, everyone is my mate.

  • I was part of the first SES search team into Grantham. Hope you guys are doing okay now....

  • sadly i was in the building of the grantham hotel at 0:31 during the floods :( RIP josh

  • my heart goes out to you all. I'm in Sydney, but the kindness of strangers has enabled me to gather a huge amount of resources for the schools/kindies in the Lockyer Valley region that will find their way to you next week. Take care xxx

  • @openhanded64

Thank you so much for kindness, Thanks for taking the time to view this video.

  • My boyfriend's parents house is in this video. They're slowly cleaning it all up. But it will take a long time.

  • I am from central Qld - and yes we are saturated with images from these floods in the south east corner - but please think before you whinge that you are seeing more of these sad images than any other but the wall of water that hit that area was far worse than the flooding we had up here.....please however remember ALL the lives lost that are flood related.........my heart goes out to all, for loss of life and property and the cleanup to follow........

  • Man, i grew up in grantham myself. in wa atm, feel so helpless atm. brings a tear to my eye. But u guys there were prayin 4 ya's.

  • I've been watching closely from Sydney. After watching this, I'm amazed that the death toll has been as low as it is (as of now it's 20 for all of Qld). Bligh is right about the Qld spirit, we may bag you out in during the NRL season but when it comes down to it you guys know how to get stuff done and all of Aus is with you. I'm just waiting for an ok from my doctor before I can come up and help out. Stick it out, getting through stuff like this is what makes us Aussies.

  • pictures dont do it justice the damage is horrible just looking out there is debris everywhere

  • hahaah uits the donie darko song!!!

  • How can you watch this and not shed a tear????

I went to primary school in Grantham and it breaks my heart that such a beautiful little town could be so devastated.

My heart goes out to those unfortunate to be stuck in the middle of it.

  • I didn't know what to say when I found this haunting gem of a vid this morning. Even many viewings later, I still don't. Maybe it's just that we need to be nice to each other here, because the land can be so cruel. Poor Grantham. Poor Queensland.

  • wow i cant believe some1 disliked the vid O.o

  • My heart goes out to anyone that has lost loved ones in this very tragic day of distruction.

  • great song choice

  • so very sad - I hope people outside Australia realise that the areas destroyed by these floods would cover FRANCE and GERMANY combined !!!! Also, don't forget the people and lives lost in Brazil - Prayers and peace to all who have suffered.

  • Sharing on facebook. My prayers go out to everyone effected.

  • @ownpkman

May your Dad rest in peace and may you recover and be strong for him

  • @CanberraUser

What does it matter what they do with the words. Do you have no heart. People will struggle for years to come with all of this. Our thoughts thoughts should be with them

  • I used to live in Ipswich, only 3 years ago. Our old house was inundated and it's just so hard to believe.. Riverlink was only just being finished when we left and it's so hard to believe that they are expecting that it will have to be completely built again from the foundation up.. all my friends have told me about their houses being affected and it's all really hard to believe.. I feel so sorry for all those affected. If I could, I would be on a plane and helping out until I had to stop. <3

  • Is this all Grantham?

Here in Victoria, the Media paid so much attention to Brisbane...

I guess it was less depressing

  • @podraigporridge The media is all about sensationalism, what will generally grab viewers attention is sadly though essentially what they will follow up the most. However, don't let it make you believe that it isn't less depressing. You guys have all our support also, we just have to help each other out. No Australian is forgotten in a time like this. Keep faithful :)

  • @podraigporridge Hi yes all images are from Grantham In the Lockyer Valley.

    Shane

  • @podraigporridge and brisbane had 2 days to get ready for it grantham had no warning

  • i lived in laidley for ten years

i know those places and have been to most of them :(

its hard to think i will never be able to see them again

i know live in ipswich and we got hit hard so i can only imagine in horror what grantham and the lockyer went through

my thoughts are with you all

  • Is it me or have I heard the phrase "Ground Zero" many times before.

"Ground Zero" is getting a bit overused lately. Since the WTC attacks in September 2001 that phrase has become in use to epidemic proportions in the media.

  • @CanberraUser Ground Zero is a bit out of context in this kinda of event. It was perfect for 9/11 but not so much here. Nonetheless - I can't really think of a better word to use either.

  • @ownpkman1 i dont see one ><

  • i reackon this is worse than haiti tsunami!! my dad died in the floods <3

  • AWWS! PRAYING FOR EVERYONE IN THE FLOOODS! xo

  • I don't know whether to like or dislike D:

It's a good video, but of terrible things :(

R.I.P to anyone and everyone who have lost their lives <3

  • Lots of people are waiting to come in and help when 'outsiders' are allowed in. There are horse people all over Australia waiting to provide aid for the Grantham horses and other animals. I know Grantham will be preoccupied with the human toll, but as soon as we are allowed, we will be there to help the animals. 40 mins away at Grandchester - lea_owens@hotmail.com

  • Good vid mate, RIP to those that lost lives and thanks to those that helped out. Its crazy what nature can do.

  • Lol the radio was playing this song earlier today while talking about the floods.

  • It's still hard to believe that this is the town that we drive through daily to go to Toowoomba. Heartbreaking to see what has happened to a beautiful town!

  • Just mind blowing stuff!!! Heartbreaking!! The choice of music certainly does help get a real feel for how devastating this must be for all of those poor people directly affected by this disaster!! Thoughts and prayers are with them all ... How do they recover from this tragedy??? Thank you for sharing this with us!!

  • thank u 4 making this video RIP to all that was lost

  • Wow! Haunting video and perfect song to accompany such images... Thank you so much! Marlene xo
