Not just in your opinion, this equipment IS for digital artists. And of course it outclasses the iPad, the iPad is 1/10th the price and is for an entirely different purpose.

If this thing at least had a hybrid screen like the HP tablets it might be worth $3500, but it doesn't, and it's not.

but it doesn't have touch screen which is pretty much why people do this in the first place. You could have said you could get a fully decked out ThinkPad x201 tablet... that would've been a better comparison.

@areufkingkiddingme u can just connect an external touchscreen display / monitor to a regular macbook pro. its still cheaper. if they didnt remove the keyboard, then maybe u cud justify it but without the keyboard, its simply worse. no shortcuts, no online gaming or a v poor experience at it, and u might hv to use 1 hand to hold it upright, otherwise it lies flat on the surface.

@hellohuy i thought it was clear. guess not. this product is over priced, over rated, and its not practical. if u like the touchscreen part of it, just buy and connect an external touchscreen display. keep the keyboard, bcos that is needed for many reasons. im not trying to start a mac vs pc war. if u read my 1st post, i said it costs $3000 addition to the macbook price to take it apart, remove the keyboard, and add a touchscreen. how can anyone justify it?

@SquireofFire Your not a digital artist so you wouldn't understand!! Have you not heard of the Wacom Cintiq 12wx or the 21ux, it's simply for a digital artist!! This product is not practical for those gadget geeks who use it for entertainment purposes only!! $3000 is a reasonable price for it's size and specifications... That's it's justification!!

i know other tablets use more than 2x pressure levels for their touchscreens, so there r better touchscreens for the same purpose. its cheaper to buy the wacoms u mentioned and attach them to computers u already hv. my point is why wud they remove the keyboard and several good features the macbook already had? they could have just made the screen rotate over the keyboard like most tablets making it the best of both. also adding a cheap touchscreen shudnt cost that much.

@TheSlipKnot981 It was more expensive when i posted the comment. but ur wrong. axiotrons website says $899 and that is if u buy a macbook and then give it to them. the base price is now $1849. probably went down cos apple stopped making the regular macbook which is what axiotron had designed the modbook off of so they now have outdated parts they need to sell.
