  • This one is from like '97 I think? If yours is a revision G then the clean channel should sound just like this one. You have to play with the settings for a while

  • Do you know how old this head is? I'm getting one from 1999, and the clean is pretty dirty to be honest.

  • Noise supresser sir.

  • my buddy in another band got this head and cab for 650..... gut was moving out of state and wanted to get rid of it. It's sounds so different than my 3 channel. good for him

  • i would do a sexual favor or two to own one of these.

  • great demo! everybody uses this amp to chug and do breakdowns. i think they oftten buy it for all of the wrong reasons and use it for just one thing. it is easy to call it a one trick pony when people ofter only see it used for one thing. its good to know somebody actually plays guitar and doesnt strum repeatedly like a fool. thumbs up!

  • Can i get a real great clean sound out of this amp ( like marshall, fender...) ? sorry for bad english ;)

  • @oooGibson92ooo yeah. this amp can do pretty much anything you ask of it. just experiment with the settings a bit until you find your tone. and your english was completely fine.

  • would the sound get distorted if you were to roll you volume knob at 10? (volume on guitar)

and very nice playing. Its calming.

  • how do u like the avatar cab? my band might get a sponsorship from them.........after we buy a cab first lol

  • how does amp play at low volumes considering i have a 2x12 cab.?

  • sounds like chili peppers...lol

  • yeah...an easier version of under the bridge :P

  • Cool. 8000th view.

  • a major 7 chord :D

  • i was watching a live performance of Buckethead and someone said that was the kind of amp he was using

  • yes it is

  • lol dude that's exactly why i watched this

  • thats crazy i want one

  • They're a GREAT amp, and have a lot of tones that people don't seem to want to find. The Recto amps are VERY versatile, and people do say otherwise probably don't know how to use/dial them in.

  • to bad you can probably buy another versatile stack for the price for just the rectifier head.

  • I got the head for $750 used. I think you'd be pressed to find a half stack that's as versatile and sounds as good as that head does for $750.

  • You stole it. 750 is a freaking killer deal!

  • @zenshift wow! only 750? here in italy it costs 2000 euros (2400 dollars) used

  • Thank you for not playing heavy metal the whole damn time!! these amps don't just play metal people, they can do alot more...

  • A lot of people seem to forget this.

  • @zenshift i want a roadster amp but these things are cheaper so i think ill pick this up :D

  • what kind of speakers are in that avatar?

  • V30's

  • The camera compresses the audio hugely, you can hear it in the pick attack. It does not hiss anywhere near this loud.

  • hmm it's true, a kind of upward compressor since the noise only comes back up when you don't play... I suggest doing another video with better quality would be cool to hear

  • How clean does this amp stay when cranking up the volume?

  • extremely clean. it's 150 watts.

  • No..its "Say It Under The Bridge"!

  • is the buzzyness coming from the amp?

  • no, thats the camera's input distorting from the volume (which really wasn't that high)

the amp doesn't buzz like that

  • what is the name is the first song?

  • how much (in dollars) are they?

  • triple rec is about 1900

cab is another story... about 900(mesaboogiecab)

I might be wrong but list price for dual rec is 1799.......

  • where did you get yours?

    i can't find them ANYWHERE

  • look it up in the mesa/boogie distribution store....

Pick one of the stores and email them...

  • I found mine on craigslist for $700

Typically they go for about 1300 used.

  • nice. what speakers in your avatar? how do you find it compares to marshall/mesa 4x12's?

  • I have v30s in it. I honestly like it better than the marshall, but would probably prefer a mesa normal sized. Although at this price, its basically unbeatable, especially if you can find one used. Good quality, I've carted it to plenty of gigs and everything and the tolex is all still in perfect condition. The thing sounds sweet, especially high gain. Really punchy in the bass.

  • so fucking good youre so good at guitar fuck me please just put it in my butt

  • these are nice, but i prefer ENGL amps

  • too compressed IMO

  • don't like the clean on this amp.

    Appreciate the demo though.

i think the mesa express is more my speed.

  • I just got a strat, and it makes the clean sound wayyy betterrr

  • pretty appropriate song to play with the strat in the beginning :P

  • aah! what is that song? i know it, but i cant think of the name! isnt it an old weezer song?

  • Its Under the Bridge by the Red Hot Chili Peppers but the way he played it, it sounded a bit like Say it aint so by Weezer

  • Nice bro. I would kill for a Triple Rec any day.

  • what tube set up is in this?

  • =C= 6L6s and 7th gen chinese 12ax7s

  • loljeff

  • this is channel 1 right ? what are your settings if you dont mind me asking

    cheers

  • my settings are in the description part to the right

  • I was just learning more of Under the Bridge and came across your thread... =) Sounds good to me though.

  • oops i removed the guy's question who asked about this having two channels and if i was sure if it was a triple and not a single I meant to hit reply. The older version of the dual and triple had 2 channels.

  • Can you get this amp super clean, without any dirty tone whatsoever? I've heard that the triple recs don't really allow nice cleans. In your view is this true?

  • You can get it really clean, and it has tons of headroom. I could've clean this up a bit, but this was recorded on a gain channel. The clean channel just sounds overly warm and round but still lacks depth imo.

  • The newer rectos don't really have a great clean channel. Quite a bit thinner and not as warm. Mesa went with a new circuitry design for the "solo" or 3 channel dual/triple rectifiers. The 2 channel ones perform quite flawlessly and are always referred to as the best rectos. Allen Holdsworth, the ultimate guitarist (a jazz player!) used Dual Rectifiers live, and I believe he still does.

  • awesome

  • i like

  • NIce i love your sound
