where/when did this happen? He looks all grey in this film. I like Stern and all but I notice some world famous violinists (including Stern, Szerying, Menuhin) who refuse to step down and continue playing all their lives, they tend to go back Bach's a minor and other "easier on the fingers" kinda pieces. I remember hearing Stern when he was like 80 years old playing Beethoven's Romance in G, and he was out of tune a lot, particularly the double stops.
The jig that ends the world. The pedal point always makes me think of the end of the world; I think it must be this persistent constancy piercing through the harmonic tumult, like the trumpet blast from heaven as the world and its elements are dissolved in fire. Or perhaps not, but that's what I think of.

I know because I am in the orchestre(viola, blond). The members of the orchestre are from the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestre and are 1.vl.:Gunnar Tagmose,Tim Frederiksen 2.vl.:Arne Karecki,Boris Samsing Viola:Henrik Olsen,Herman Holm-Andersen Cello:Birthe Holst Christensen,Jørgen Friisholm

This part of the concert makes me feel like an ancient god... Likes Wotan riding in his 8-leg horse to the center of the galaxy...
