tigers are great but are not good for everything as they cant stay in the air for as long as the apaches. they both have their advantages too so I think Australia should buy some british apache mk1's.(yankee AH64D's arnot as good
Apache can carry 16 hellfire missiles or 76 Hydra 70mm rockets and more ammo for it's 30mm gun turret. The Tiger is a cheaper, lighter and lesser armed variant. Don't forget the job of these guys is to deliver maximum damage to enemy ground forces like fixed installations or large armoured columns. In that case, you want the highest weapon capacity and best sensor and FCS systems. None of these aerial stunts matter since Apache is quick enough to do it's job.
@zidbecfiggig yes but the tiger is better suited (and designed) for the scouting role (the australian tiger is the ARH varient which stands for Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter) because its more manuverable, its lighter, its slightly smaller and its composite carbon-fiber kevlar fusalage is bullet proof up to 12.7mm all over where as the apache is only resistant to 12.7mm in the vital areas (eg. cockpit, engines, gearbox) but not some of the avionics bays below the cockpit and the tail boom ect.
@zidbecfiggig also the tiger is much more modern and at the start of its life where the apache is an old (still very very good) thats been upgraded. the tiger has a lower radar cross-section and its crew and systems proteced from 23mm autocannon fire, EMP, chemical and even biological warfare. and sorry in my comment below but everywhere i said 12.7mm I acually meant 23mm
Tiger would pwn the Apache Gunship but there is just one important thing... the Tiger just got way to many tec problems. Eurocopter said this Gunship would be combat ready in 1997 and he still don´t is.
So at last the Tiger is just a kind of million Euro expensice piece of trash that can´t be used like other Gunships

@MrHoldenmaloo
Wrong, the Tiger range is twice the Apache's one
(Tiger : 430 nm at 157kn, so approx 2h45min
Apache : 257 nm at 143kn, so approx. 1h50min

@AreUBlem they are good
but they have become old
a new design (like this helo) will be better
and the good things of the apache will remain in this helo
