  • How often can you offer snails? I know the shells give good calcium, but don't they also give the risk of impaction? Would the freshwater snails at the pet store be an okay choice? Would I have to flush their systems if I buy those snails from there?

  • @ImagineNoReligions Mine only gets snails as a treat. Less than once a month. Im hoping to get a colony of african land snails together, so he can have them more often.

Im not too sure about the freshwater snails?

  • is it good to give snail with shell? i mean is it healthy?

  • @hasanarkan Yep, the shells give a good source of calicum.

  • Yummy Yummy

  • the third snails like, "fuckin bail!!!!!"

  • mmmmmm crunchyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.....

  • Yum!

  • I have an blue tongue skink do you know if they go into hibernation or stop eating in the winter? BTW cool vid!

  • ok so i hate snakes and reptiles.....and i think these vids of the skink eating mice and snails ...but i'm finding that its so cool how the skink is so intelligent and (it kills me to say this but) its kinda cute :)

  • poor snail. lol

  • Say where did you get your Bluey from? I'm in the UK myself around the midland area and am really struggling to find one in my local pet stores and can't find any local breeders.

  • That is so gross!!!!! but cool ;)

  • What does their skin feel like? it looks pretty smooth and soft

lol the snail was liek "Hey hows it go- Aahhhh muh gawd ima gettin eaten!"

  • Crunchy

  • I'm getting myself a little IJ here within the next week, but I was hesitant about snails to give to my skink. Mainly I was worried about the shells, but I suppose its good for calcium? If anything I'll try and look for some (snails that is), but if people know where I can get some, let me know!

  • How do BT Skinks compare to the bearded dragons? Which tend to be friendlier or more tolerant of interaction with people? I'd like to purchase one or the other. They're both very cool.

  • @WilliamTheSupreme I can say that Blue Tongues are a lot more chilled, bearded dragons tend to be a lot more active and twitchy, lol.

  • @WilliamTheSupreme if they are both well kept and treated kindly, they can be equal of being tolerant, but bearded dragons will often just stay in one place if youre holding it,where as a blue tongue skink will continue to walk everywhere possible..i have both and both are tame,so thats how i see it.

  • i got my baby some snails the other day. she is going to DESTROY THEM.

  • lol these will eat anything huh?

  • This is so entertaining to watch how much are they?

  • sounds like its eating potato chips haha

  • Hey Dan, ( funny my name is also Dan) I just got an Indonesian. Check out my videos of him. I really love yours. and your channel. Blues Rule. Sweetest I have ever seen. Snails are great for them. And flushing out snails system is a perfect method. Do you have any more tips on them?

  • @TheMass33 Hey, Dan (lol) Thanks for the comment!

Il definatly check out your videos! I love the Indonesian Blueys!

Cant really think of any other tips of the top of my head! Would be interested to hear if you have any though!

  • @BlueTongueDan I plan on getting a Northern. I rescued ( Indio ). He is such a cool Little guy. He is not shy or intimidated by anything. I Do take him outside to sun himself everyday around Noon, So he can use the bathroom ( Which keeps his tank clean ). And I feed him everyday for now, So he can gain weight and get more bone density. After he gets 100% then I will feed him every other day. But I Feed him at 6pm. Gets plenty of time to digest his food. then take him outside the next day.

  • very nice skink :) dont give to many snails give 4 snails one a week.

  • Really great close up! 5'*s n' sub! ;D

  • oh yeh gals, but they grow way 2 big

sum gro up to 25 cm or more

  • man u shouldnt get them from your garden and straitgh feed him

u should breed snails and keep the captivety snails with u, and give them lots of healthy food... useful do =P

  • I didnt give them to him straight away. I kept em for 10 days to flush out their system.

But yea, it would be better to breed GALS or something.

  • @BlueTongueDan how do you find snails, i want to give them to my schneider skink but i cant find a store that sells live ones with shells, so how do you get yours?

  • @victorhugomuzi So what do you think the Blue tongues that live in the garden are eating ?

  • @DENMONKEY snails but its not safe :))

  • @victorhugomuzi

I don't get what is not safe about eating their natural diet.

I can see that maybe if they picked up a baited snail, then that could have nasty results.

Other than that, I'd say grab all the free snails you can.

I'm not trying to be combative here but 'because it's bad' isn't a reason.

I'm trying to understand your reasoning for your statement. :)

  • @DENMONKEY snails are likely to carry parasites. and you dont want parasites in your lizard do you?

well u can still feed him snails from outside, tho its better if you leave them in a tank with calcium healthy food and water for a week before you feed it to your lizard.

its not gonna kill him anything, it might if the snail is a got a parasite but i dont reccomend you to just find snails around and give it to your lizard

  • @victorhugomuzi Still not sure I agree, but I do appreciate you taking the time to explain. cheers

  • Cool, love FFDP, the bleeding, one of many good songs by them :)

  • so cool, hes a pro

  • did you just find those snails in your garden or did you get them ina shop

  • Got em out the garden.

Kept them for 10 days first though to flush out their systems and make sure they're healthy.

  • @BlueTongueDan same here

  • Never really saw them eat snails before

Also: Five finger death punch in the background WOOT

  • Crunch!! :D Awesome blue tongue
