  • I donated myself. But, I video responded to you to duet with yah. =D

  • Very good, thank you! :)

  • As long as it doesn't become a hype like the tzunami did.

  • Sure. Get your cyclone-tshirts today. :P

  • This a good time for the burmese to attack their government and their ruthless general.

  • Damn that really breaks my heart that must be so horrible to lose your house and family members the material things dont really matter but the place you sleep in and all those memories you had taken just like that. Can i donate by mobile phone? it aint much i really wish i could donate more. Thats good that people like you care about these disaster, Thank YOU!

  • It could be up to 100,000. How can you help? Purly emotional reactions to worlds problems never really help in the long run. The UN need to take control of the country to assure aid will get to it's civilians. Billions and Billions of aid dollars never reach their target. Keep that in mind before you go off half baked in an emotional frinzy.

  • Thanks for your comment. Can't really blame you for not seeing my real intention with this video. My point is that you can just see something like that on tv and go like "oh dear, that's terrible" and move on with your happy life. What I'm really trying to do here is to encourage the viewer to stop and think for a moment about the true impact of this, and if possible... try to care about it too.

I'm not asking for donations... I'm merely asking people to care, mate.

  • This is likely be worse then the tsunami or Katrina. I didn't make my point clear. I am not criticizing you for an attempt to increasing awareness or encouraging others to help. Burma is simply in a really bad political state to receive help. That does not mean we should not try. Just keep it rational.

  • Thanks, mate, now your point is clear. I know about the political state in Burma (I actually included that part in my original footage, but I decided to cut it out), but as you say: one can only try to do their best.

  • Nightwatcher1982 "U.N. halts Myanmar flights after aid 'seized'" You can't say I didn't warn you. Emotional responce to world problems seldom help. What Myanmar needs is an overthrow. But who will step in and take control of the country? The United States? LOL

  • Then what type of responses do help? Emotional responses bring groundswells of support and have toppled regimes. What Nightwatcher1982 is saying is that you cannot sit and complacently wait for the talking heads who run countries to take hold of a situation. There are organizations who will get in to distribute aid other than the UN. In the meantime, you go tell the people of Myanmar to go overthrow their government when they are mourning and burying their dead.

  • jsanderson3 "you go tell the people of Myanmar to go overthrow their government when they are mourning and burying their dead." That is very well understood by the Myanmar goverment. That is why they won't let aid workers into the country.

  • Lol? You think this is a laughing matter or something?

In my country, humanitarian aid is very well organized. All organizations work together and combine their resources to help as good as possible. And all donations go to a centralized bank account. With the tsunami-disaster, our little country raised over 150 million dollars. Emotional or not, you can give a lot of aid for that!

I'm sure it's just a matter of time before help gets in. Every dollar will make a difference then.

  • Lol? "You think this is a laughing matter or something?"

Allowing The United States in to police the world is a joke. Then, Bush wouldn't care about helping Burma's people. How much oil do they have? I have to worry about how I will be able to afford to buy gas for my Motor Home this summer. [Joking again]

  • ben jij nederlands ? :P

  • Dat is correct.

  • haha xD als ik kon doneren zou ik het doen maar helaas kan ik dat niet =(

  • erde0 De liefdadigheid begint thuis

  • It's already FAR more serious than Katrina, Katrina has 1,800 deaths whilst Nargis has soon over 100,000 deaths.. And Myanmars government refuses help! UNbelievable...

  • This is like a second Tsunami. It's as simple as that. And the government can't keep help out for long, trust me on that.

  • It's worse than the Tsunami because the death toll for a single country alone is estimated to be more than 100,000 while the Tsunami hit several countries which had some early warning and immediate international relief reducing the number of deaths (even though it was over 100,000 too).

  • I'll also be donating personaly, since it's in dollars this time (as opposed to the BBC thing that took only euros and pounds). But I'll be doing it through my church rather than the red cross. They do alot of good, but have you heard what the president makes a year from skimming off the top?

  • Yeah, that's why I'm donating to the Dutch department of the Red Cross, rather than the American one. Here in Holland, all helping charities work together with a common donation number, to make sure nothing gets taken by bloody bureaucrats :P.

  • I will do a response this weekend if at all possible, but I expect a contest entry:)

  • Well, I was working on that when this came up. So stand by, mate ;).

    Looking forward to your response.

  • Ya. I would do it right now but I need nathan to be in it so I have to wait till this weekend.

  • Great to see you are back, I've been wondering how you are! I would make a video response, but have never done anything like that. What a terrible disaster - the numbers keep mounting - unbelievable!

  • Thanks for your comment, Staceyjay. Actually, I've been on a break from making videos because I didn't have so many good ideas. But for this disaster, I felt I had to do something.

Would be great if you could make a video response. It really doesn't have to be anything great - can even be a text message in Movie Maker... it's just a great thing that you care about it. If I can help you with any technichal issues, just let me know!

  • my teacher mr.bandel assighned to me to look up myanmar TY SO MUCH I JUST GOT MY PAPER WRITTEN

  • I only just heard about this cyclone. It's horrible. I live in a place called warwickshire which populates about 50 000 people. My local area is about 1000 people. so basically the area is about a 30 mile radius. so myanmar is basically 200 times worse than it would have been if ever such an incident happened here

  • You're absolutely right. This is like a second tsunami disaster. You've studied all about it, Tom, so you know more than anybody how much those people are suffering right now.

  • YAY YOUR BACK!

20,000 holy fuck, it was 10,000 last night. I had no idea it is this bad.

  • Believe me, Shaun... it is that bad and it's gonna get much, much worse :(.
