@x6xk1LLx9x turtle beach dss with the a stars work great, and the optical cable comes with the dss along with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable so you can hook an ipod up to it and listen to music with out cutting game audio out. I highly recommend astro a stars with the turtle beach dss. SAVE $50!!!!!!

@x6xk1LLx9x a 20 dollar setup which is easy to set up also. Get a 3.5 mm female to dual mic/audio 3.5 mm male = 12 bucks. a 3.5mm female to rca female adapter = 3 bucks. and a 2.5mm male to 3.5mm female = 5 bucks. First you split the audio and mic with the pc dual mic/audio cable. then connect the green cable to the female 3.5mm to rca female and then connect the white and red audio cables from your xbox to the adapter and then connect the female to male to pink cable and then to the controller.

@randomnoyz i was wondering the same thing but i think if you want to game on a xbox or the ps3 you do need the mix amp but if ur playing on any thing other than that, than no. the mix amp alone costs 130 bucks plus the buds that will run u about 80 wich adds up to alot more than there worth. if i was u u should get the astro a40. its a bit more worth it

3 days after I bought these the wire connecting the controller to the jack came out and exposed the wire.

I pushed them back in and glued it, but after a week the right wire broke and I couldnt any sound in one of earbuds.

Im getting a mix amp 5.8 and was wondering which is the best headset choice: the a30's or the a*stars. I want to know which ones have the superior confort, noise cancellation, least sound leakage (figure astars for that), sound quality, most even sound distribution (highs mids lows) and best microphone. I will be using them for both gaming and for my ipod so sound quality is really critical and the mic is also for i like to game with friends. Thanks for your help.
