  • hahaha fucking pogs! they play good!

  • great sound, great sound.

however, i was a little disappointed that the 2nd/3rd trumpets did not play the higher notes on the fanfare sections.

  • If any of you get a chance to see/hear The Marine Band, Washington Barracks...DO IT....it's the tightest band I've ever heard.

  • I fail at this song. D:

    I'm jealous.

    :D

  • Semper Fi, Do or Die, Ohh-rah, ooh-rah, ohh-rah. Boot Camp both times at Parris Island. I have to think EVERY Marine Band knows his song by heart.

  • Thank you so much for that comment. I completely agree. That guy was posting that same comment on every video with this song. It is for those who have passed and those who served.

  • the females in the Marine band are hot. :)

  • I love how all the marine bands play in tune for the most part. How rigorous is your audition process?

  • It's just like any other one really. Prepared solo, all forms of scales (major and minor), and sight reading.

  • cool, are you in a marine band right now? I am enlisted to ship out soon to be an Army Bandsman, I have found more clips on youtube of the marine corps bands then any other branch, they sound good.

  • Yes. I'm actually in the band in this video. I'm a tuba player.

Good luck to you in the army.

  • This is a great video; they did an outstanding job playing this song.

  • our band is playing this song for our contest this year group 1 i play tenor sax

  • This song reminds me of and is dedicated to my uncle, Donald Chube (drummer),who played in the Capitol High School Marching Band and in every parade this band would play this song. Today, I asked my uncle the name of this song and he told me. I ran upstair and immediately found it and has been playing for a couple of hours now. My uncle left high school and became a Marine (high rank) and fought in Nam. That was over 30 years ago and I still love and admire the Marines! Thanks

  • I'm not a dude!! Again, GET a LIFE!

  • Again, you're the one without a life, running around posting that nonsense on every uploaded version of this song on youtube.

  • Let us not forget that he DIED trying to KILL other MARINES

  • That is an incorrect and foolish statement. There were not even Marines in that movie. He was firing on Army National Guardsmen. Furthermore, it doesn't matter who he was trying to kill; its about the ideal, not the enemy.

  • If you're going to go to every damn video of this song on youtube and say that the actual song is dedicated to your uncle, for some reason, at least figure out what rank he was and what he did. Besides its pretty arrogant and selfish to say "this song...is dedicated to my uncle" when someone else is playing it.

  • gracias marines! junto a mi familia estamos disfrutando de su band. Gracias. Desde Argentina. Pablo

  • Wow. Here you really see an example of the "triangle of sound" about which my band teacher's been speaking lately. Great job!

  • What did you expect ? A 200 piece brass band to fulfill your negetive comments. Jesus there are some ungrateful morons out there.

  • Very nice march!

Also recommend an Argentine march called "San Lorenzo March"

    Very nice too.

  • this march makes one feel so proud of our country and the men and women who serve their duty to ensure our freedom Happy memorial day

  • this song is very easy for trumpet, if u use the alternate fingerings. its hard if u dont.

  • I teach trumpet at Primary and High Schools and never in my life have I taught my students to use "alternate fingering" to make playing a piece easier... Alternate Fingering i.e 3 instead 1 and 2 ... etc... Should only be used for trills and embellishments.

    N.

  • This is in my opinion a very hard song to play, but given the origin, well worth learning.

  • I guess if anyone would know how to play Semper Fidelis, it would be a USMC Band.

Along with Wash Post March, Sousa's two best.

  • PAFC COMEIN OUT SONG FUCKIN LEGEND

  • semper fi sounded GREAT!!!

  • cool...low brass sounded great...i was the 11000 viewer weird O_O

  • Kinda ironic that the most badass armed force plays this fancy tune. I like it!

  • it's a march song though

  • Ironic how? John Philip Sousa wrote this for the United States Marines..

  • I was in the MCJROTC for four years, and I played the Marines Corps Hymn during 7 days of week for four years, I remember that the 1st time that I played was hard, put let me tell you that ones you play it you never forget it.Everytime that I hear that song I feel something in my heart..Ooooorah...and don't forget semper fidelis.

  • no way im in William S. Hart shcool district and i had to do this for honor band too.

  • My son is there

  • Very good. I'm in 8th grade and i have to play this for honors band on Tuesday..I'm so nervous.lol

  • Yeah, I'm in Tenth, and I have to play it at a Benifit concert tonight, but our part is a lot harder, cuz we're a brass ensemble, so the first trumpet part is really high.

  • Lol, I'm in ninth and I'm playing this for honor band. It's really hard. Our school just started and only has freshman so I'm the honor band with a bunch of crazy good seniors juniors.

  • you are aware only the army says ho-rah? or are you just retarded?

and do you know what sempir fi (aka sempir fidelis) means?

  • you're the one that might be a retard my good man. For starters, the Army says HOOAH not ho rah. and It's Semper Fi, not Simpir Fi. Got that cupcake?

  • Hoorah and Hooyah is USN. Oorah is USMC, Hooah is US Army

  • Yes, I know that.

  • I know, I was saying it to another person, sorry about that.

  • and Marines DO say OOHRAH.

  • What a silly argument. I was a Naval FO tad to 1st Division in 70 and 71. I Corps. Quang Tri province. I never heard any of them say any of that crap. Hell, it don't mean nothin'.

  • But " Danger close 200 " does. You folks can argue about the silliest things.

  • Heh, and so does Lai dai, homo kai. Beaucoupe tao diem.

  • with all do respect sir, you served with the Old Corps.

  • No offense taken, Scoonie. I did serve with the Old Corps and am very proud of them, just as I am proud of you young Marines in the New Corps. If you don't mind a Sailor saying it, Semper Fi my friend. And if you have been over there, welcome home.

  • Semper Fi.

  • damn their good.

  • Hey Mightyjordan at least our players are Men, your players look like fags. One kick on the shin and they start rolling bout on the pitch crying for momma. You limeys can't play your own game anyway look the England team they always lose.

  • SEMPER FI, OOORAH

  • Its sad that a great tune has been hijacked by that crappy sport called British football.

  • Better than your shitty football imitation called NFL.

  • they play this when plymouth argyle fc come out on the pitch.come on you greens up the argyle. fuck off holloway

  • Come on Marines! You already got best drill! Now you gotta take the best band now. lol

  • My daughter is one of the tuba players and my son-in-law is another tuba! OOHRAH!!

    Proud Marine MOM! :)

  • Is that SSgt. Peyton directing them? I used to play with this very band '02-'05.

  • John Sousa r t3h l337

    semper fidelis!

  • for the base line whats the notes?

  • nope, but I have the alto sax part and the trumpet. Could get tuba.

  • hh, tried to give it two stars for the same reason, but it's a great Souza march. Semper fi!

  • i do believe that was semper fidelis and not the washington post.

  • You're right,I do have the Washington Post played by them I just named the two songs the same, thankyou Man.

  • can u tell me the notes for the base line
