I would say the brightness needs to be brought down a bit. (-20 or -30 points maybe?)

TVs often have their brightness set higher than they need to be by default, often for display purposes. Now, maybe it has some usage for the break-in period, which is understandable. Dimmer settings tend to extend a TV's lifespan, I know that much...and it's possible to have moderate brightness/contrast AND vibrant colors.

dude u got scammed on those hdmi cables...an hdmi cable is an hdmi cable, whether it be $100 or $5. reason being is because hdmi uses digital signals. a digital signal either works or it doesnt - there are no quality issues or one digital signal being better than the other.

$50 for an HDMI cable is no deal, i bought ten dollar cables that do just what yours do at a fraction of the cost. screen burn in should still be one of your concerns,"breaking in" will not solve that problem. it is only to let your tv settle in, when you first buy it, over the first hundred hours or so, the picture will begin to brighten and reach its full potential so to speak. it helps with calibrating the tv, do it too soon and over time the picture will change and ruin the calibration
