I was about to start my second year of college when this song came out. This song still rocks and it was her second # 1 R&B Hit. BET needs to honor her.

Hopefully they honor her before Beyonce since B took the complete creative from Vanessa's career in the 90s. Vanessa was the first black Pop/R&B artists to wear the "Chita" look (big hair, leopard prints and heavy makeup).

Thank you!! I read an interview with Farrar Franklin, the one who was recruited to replace LaTavia in Destiny's Child said that she would love to portray Vanessa. Vanessa was honored in 1997 with the Lena Horne acheivement award at the Lady of Soul Awards and Lena send her a tape message saying that Vanessa display courage along with her talent. You made a great point; Vanessa was able to drop it like it's hot, but she had other skills to fall back on.

You're so right! Vanessa is so beautiful, with a great voice! Beyonce is so overrated! I'm so sick and tired of hearing about her on those tabloid t.v. shows! Beyonce's singing sucks! Has a FAT ASS and nothing more!

Paula Abdul, Adina,..etc... makes u see where Beyonce is grab bits and pieces of herself from..

Beyonce doesn't owe them anything. She got where she is because she worked hard just like they did. Unless Vanessa or Paula had a substantial and physical part in her success then she doesn't need to give them credit for anything. especially if they aren't the ones who've inspired her. I came here to watch and comment on how awesome Vanessa is but yet I find myself always having to comment o a stupid comment dissing Beyonce. what is it with you people.
