Always loved repoman have to admit not up on his others definitely have to check them out. First time I've heard his voice since my generation of movie drome was during the Mark cousins years. Very soothing voice sir could listen to him and mr cousins talk about films all day. Bring movie drome back BBC!
Walker is a great film. Funny, hip, inventive, exciting, startling, brechtian, politically intelligent and genre busting. Thanks Alex Cox for getting together great cast, great writer great soundtrack and enough money to make it happen. Thanks once more...
Alex, pretty deep into 'X Films, True Confessions of a ....' and thought I'd look up Walker on youtube, still haven't seen, but the book is amazing, I am a filmmaker of sorts as well (UC Santa Cruz 2001) and have put up a bunch of my shorts on 'TrashCanSchool', of course Repo Man and Sid and Nancy are my favourites, thank you.
Fast Forward several years, all of those same critics would have hailed the film. Big fan of Walker since day 1. The movie is new again in these times.
"only the insolence of someone who refuses to play by the rules" I like that, makes me want to watch it even more!

Also, I hope that someone will someday say that I have "the insolence of someone who refuses to play by the rules."

It's so strange to hear these reviews in hindsight. I laughed out loud at some of them, but I'm sure it wasn't so funny at the time.

The walker soundtrack is one of my all time favourite film soundtracks. Alex cox's second best movie, 1st being Straight to Hell.
