I saw this movie yesterday and it left me dissapointed :-( I read the book a couple of years ago and I thought that the movie would be as wonderful as The Hours--based on another novel by M. Cunningham. But it didn´t happened. The movie missed A LOT from the book. I think the problem is the casting (except Colin Farrell) and the wrong director. A bad combination.

Well this is the film where they actually kiss and its a pretty good movie, Id say a chick flick yes.... But then again quite interesting.. and sort of confusing... Colin Farell seems to be bisexual in this movie..

It's great to see a film about different kinds of families that aren't all rosie o'donnell you know?  This is pretty realisitc too... I live in this kind of relationship. Wouldn't trade it for "normal" if I was paid.

My God, I can see my condo balcony in that graveyard scene. That graveyard is actually a park with a swimming pool. Not an actual graveyard. I can literally recognise each tree and the exact locations they stood in, in that scene. And I can SEE MY BALCONY !!!!

this was a great film,i'm reading the book now and it's fucking awesome,you all should read it,but i always read the book after i see the movie(or course if there is one)i don't know if that's good but it helps me to imagine the characters better:D

Aww man this movie was so Awesome! It's a story. Someone's story...It was really awakening as far as people, relationships, and being bi sexual I guess?...The movie never really led on about Bobby and the gay dude, kind of left it a mistery; yet they were also like brothers, so that was kind of confusing but the girl's character "knew" there was more to it, or she wouldn't have left...she was trying to get him to choose her, but he didn't

Over 16 years? That's funny. You're only 18. So you were making choices on what movies you liked back when you were 2 or 3 years old? I understand young people like you can't get into movies like this. There's an actual story to it and you have to think while watching it. No explosions, monsters, car chases, women being chased by monsters and showing their boobs. I bet that kind of a movie really gets you going.

the movie was good, but it can't be compared with the beauty, complexity and sadness of the book. the whole story turns out in a very different way, and ll the characters deeds and motives become completely different - deeper and thinner, if you know what I mean.
