  • I love the part where you tried to pass off Starship Troopers, Armageddon and Stargate SG1 as DS9 footage. You fucking fraud.

  • What show is this from?

  • @MrOceanTravel00 Star Trek Deep Space 9

  • Comment removed

  • It is from Deep Space Nine?

  • Wait a second... startek has fighters!?... I never knew that, learn something new every day.

  • @Afarrell18 Makes you wonder where the Carriers are....

  • @Afarrell18

fighters, bombers, carriers, . . . , like ships/planes from our period, they have the same ;-)

  • why attack earth like sisko said the wormwhole was a strategic post for the quadrant

  • When Demar commented that "Unfortunate so many of your ships didn't survive the assault"...what episode was that from. I can't place it.

  • Is half the footage in this made up? Cause I watched every episode of DS9 and I don't remember any footage of Earth getting destroyed like that. Like the footage around the 3.00 mark.

  • @csgrambauer Although the story line is roughly the same, some creative liberties have been taken. You will find non-Star Trek footage throughout the Dominion War series.

  • @kosstmoran Okay well fair enough. I just wish I could find these war episodes intact somewhere to watch again. I haven't seen these episodes for so long now it would be nice to watch them again.

  • @csgrambauer If you find a complete episode of DS9 on Youtube it will soon be deleted.

  • @kosstmoran I know right? That sucks so much. There was this one guy who had all the episodes so far of Enterprise and because I couldn't find the episodes anywhere else I watched them (can't afford the prices for the dvd series sets - $160 or more for just one season?!) so it was nice to watch them on here for free. But yeah his channel was removed for violations and so on. So episodes do get removed quickly too. Plus I don't advertise the eps if I find any.

  • Dont get-me rong STAR TREEK is a great serie but all the entrerprise model´s are all exploration ship´s does the federation have not armored batlle cruiser´s...

  • @MsMartinsguilherme

You forget that StarFleet's "exploration ships" are mostly more than a match for theri enemy competitors.

  • @MsMartinsguilherme

They have armored transports for the Galaxy wings. But I don't think we ever see them.

  • @MsMartinsguilherme The Defiant and Promethius class ships are full on warships.

  • The reason so many races in Star Trek's universe appear to be variations on humans was explained in TNG. The creator race that made them happen to look that way and made all the other races they seeded throughout the universe look like themselves.

  • So the Dominion forces converged and commited their forces to attack Earth instead of defend ds9? It has been yrs since I have watched season 5-7 of the DWar. I know the power relays got knocked off. So Earth suffers heavy casualties?

  • what poem where they readingA?

  • @MrAkbar2, is from the Charge Of The British Light Brigade against Russians during the Battle of Alma in the Crimean War of 1854

  • In destruction, there is an ironic beauty.

  • While some of the footage is crossover, I'd have to say it was perfect to add to this video.

  • i always wondored. what happened to all the advanced missles? you cant send those instead of the fking ships?

  • I feel so sorry for Will....Sisco really really hates him...

  • @Coffeextreme Hahahaha exactly what I was thinking. Even Picard hates Will. He's always firing at Will. xD

  • Coz the producer want us to think that the "human" was superior than any races..

  • THE GREAT FUCKIN STINK...

  • Anyone noticed that in all great ST battles, all ships have their shields offline?

  • OK,FEDERATION IS COMPOSED OF 200 SOME RACES RIGHT?SO WHY THERE IS ONLY HUMAN SHIPS DEFENDING ALL,none vulcan ships,no any other race, its funny, cardasians are strong as 200 races from alpha qudrant?star trek has so much stupid facts..

  • @MrSmigul

but there are others race. The klingons and the romulans are helping the federation. And vulcan ships are not involved, because the vulcans have been integrated into the federation.I've also never seen vulcan ships. And sorry if my english is not so good,I'm from Germany

  • @MrSmigul what do you mean "human ships"? these are starfleet ships which have crewmembers from all races.

starfleet technology is a combination of the technology of all the planets of the federation.

  • @CIarKent some episodes indicate (like startrek enterprise) that volcans have their own more advanced ships, some other races have their own ships and designs,so i asume these ships are humans ships :/..but too little info on that

  • @MrSmigul "enterprise" was set before the Federation was formed, so starfleet was just an Earth organization. after other races joined the Earth Alliance they were incorporated into Starfleet.

the reason we see mostly humans on starfleet is simply because we only see the starships which operate in the area of space where Earth is, while other starships in more distant areas of the Federation probably carry far less humans. people tend to prefer to serve on starships closer to their home planets

  • @CIarKent great answer, and i should know this if i think little about it,tnx, much clearer now and much more interesting to watch this now

  • @MrSmigul In the Star Trek movie from 2009 they let more aliens appear on screen. The problem was that a well made mask cost more than 4 hours of time for the actor. So I believe its much easier and cheaper for the producers to let the crews appear human. But ClarKents answer is still good. Think about this when watching Star Trek

Me personally, I see a part of the crew as human placeholders for other races. The others are there, even if I dont see them ;)

  • @johndoe3k5 I believe that gene roddenbery wanted them to look like the people of today, and not of tommorow

  • i just pooped my pants and i like to lick the window when it rains

  • love this shit

  • Starship troopers material? WTF!?

  • While I like the music and the sound effects, why am I not hearing any dialogue?

  • @ jodecideion. Yes, really. YouTube has done far more damage to Star Trek's legacy than good. Instead of showing plain, unedited clips of the various series and movies it's filled with far too many clips like this one; heavily edited and filled with non-Star Trek material. This video's author... and the authors of all the other clips like it... dirty the name of Star Trek. They cheapen and denigrate it... and should be ashamed of themselves.

  • i hate it when people modify videos in a way that is stupid

  • @deerhunterp Have you even watch this series. He did a better job than the actually series.

  • @jodecideion I Agree with you. I think that if you guys had watched the entire series by the great link, you would see the humor and the true scale of the death and destruction that the dominion war caused. He used scenes from more than just star ship troopers to convey his vision of what the Total war was like.

  • The Federation should have learned from its history. They should have dozens of large carriers with thousands of small but heavily armed and heavily armored fighters.

  • why did they slide that scene from starship troopers into this scene.

  • Charge of the light brigade. Very appropriate poem O Brian.

  • I love Chief O Brian reciting a great scene a into the jaws of death moment

  • Doesnt look like it pays to be a fighter as they looked like they were getting shit kicked out of them

  • This is perhaps the dumbest bastardization of Star Trek I've seen in a long time. Combining it with Starship Troopers and other lesser sci-fi? How dare you insult Star Trek by polluting it with clips from inferior franchises.

  • @zsdersw1 Really? This guy did a great job with this series. Even with the Starship Troppers stuff.

  • Comment removed

  • Johnathan Frakes recently said in an interview that the federation had 1800 ships during the war. Including the runabouts. I hope this clears the matter up. The romulans had 76,000

  • i bet damar as got a big dick..he looks so sexy

  • what's the music that plays at 2:25 ?

  • It's too bad they couldnt create more models for federation ships instead of using the same model over and over again. They had many more classes of ships than just those.

  • Dukat and weyoun!!! what a double act!!!

  • Where was the Enterprise during all of this?

  • GoddyofWar in a blackhole

  • @GoddyofWar Where was the Enterprise during all of this? Well they were out making the shitty movie Insurrection.I mean at the height of the Dominion War and do they make a great TNG movie about it? Nope...we got Insurrection *rolls eyes*

  • @rtds9fan I know right? You think they could've at least had a cameo of the ship during any of the battle scenes

  • Also I find it amusing that you think Utopia Planitia was the sole shipyard for the UFP. It demonstrates how dishonest you are when we know that in addition to that shipyard, there was the San Francisco shipyards orbiting Earth, Copernicus Ship Yards , 40 Eridani A Starfleet Construction Yards, Luna Shipyards, Earth Station McKinley, and many more. They should not only be able to build new ships, but bring in more from other parts of the UFP to fill in for the losses.

  • star trek is pooy

  • 2:40-2:50 What is that scene from? Also the scene immediately following it.

  • exelsior mk ll is apasutly powerful it would take down an ambassador

  • Too bad they didnt have any Galaxy X's at that time :P

  • Tooo many changes in the thing it jumps from attacking then talking then attacking then talking!!!! AHHHH and some scenes are from other movies... XD......

  • Okay, but seriously, Weyoun was an ASShole! I mean, when I find myself agreeing with Gul Dukat then you know you're a bastard.

  • Do not fuck with the sisko

  • aww man, if all of starfleets ships were in the battle, (70,000) the dominion wouldn't stand a chance...

  • starfleet has over 70.000 starship vessel but there spread out over 1000 's of light years

  • Ummm Starship Troopers? At least use the shower scene...

  • What movie or show is at 2:45??

  • 6:01 epic eye roll.

  • Attacking Moscow is not smart, you would be swarmed by angry Russians, such as Worf.

  • I'm sure Sisko realized how much of a dumbass he was in the Changing Face of Evil when Earth was burnt to a crisp.

  • I'd do the Vulcan Rear Admiral so hard:) Shes a goer you can tell ha ha

  • space combat 101.

    GO THE FUCK AROUND THEM!!!

  • @DarkKnightBob1o1 how they have over 12,000 ships what the entire fleet is just going to go a bit to the left and hope the enemy doesn't notice and keep going straight

  • Why is Earth always so vulnerable in Star Trek? Why doesn´t it have hundred thousands of battle satellites, ground based guns and missiles?

  • @VitoPossilipo it probly did have ground based guns and such, but the power went out and no power no gun

  • @bandboy11111 Thank you for your reply.

I find it strange that it is so easy to unarm Earth. Just like already in "Star Trek the Motion picture". And in "First Contact" it also was so vulnerable.

  • Dude whats with the Starship troopers stuff? Again, why using material not related to startrek? This "series" of videos is about StarTrek, right? Why use first StarGate and now Starship troopers?

Well it doesnt make thie videos less good its just... disturbing. Its like finding meat in your vegetable soup. Its not meant to be.

  • @DarkAmnael They would have troopers any way so the could take planet controled by there enemies

  • @RossCranston1

    u fat slut

    wtf is ur problem bich

  • Guys its not real life, just enjoy the show!

  • You see how advanced a war ship they can make when its actually designed to be a warship with the defiant before that they had no warships they were still as advanced or close to most of the more advanced races they met and given their ideals they wouldn't field as big a fleet as they could look at other empires that focus on war if the feds were like that they'd have many more ships and they'd have troops as the other empires do and they have so many races they would outnumber almost everyone.

  • fortune favours the brave innit?

  • sir they out number us 2 to 1! then it is an even fight. all cruisers fire at will! burn there mongrel hides!!!!!!

  • wtf splicing other movies in stupid just stupid

  • ha...with the charge of the light brigade poem speech there is no way they are losing that engagement...

  • At 2:15/9:56 begins the image of Earth losing it's power across the entire planet. I assume that was footage from another Star Trek show. Which one?

  • now im no startrek expert but what kind of ships are those at 8:00 ? i played some of the video games and am familiar with some of the classes but it was many years ago and the games aren't always the be all and end all of cannon information

  • @mjnoir1

i guess its the "Excelsior Class"

  • @mjnoir1 can you explain are we talking about the fighters or the frigate - please explain in more detail.. Cheers

  • ive seen every ds9 episode i love seson 1 5 6 7

  • There are alot of Galaxy Class ships in that Federation Fleet, the Cardassian ships would easily get pwned by them.

  • Thats a poor edit, meshing Starship Troopers with Star Trek. Sorry Not a fan!!

  • @harristamuffin I agree , that was lame .

  • Oh great & allknowing Link!

at 9:26 (ish) Chief O'brian has different markings on his sleves, in navies rank worn on sleives is identical on both sleves. I realise that tis is not the (Royal Navy), but can you explain? Forgive me I've wasted enough of your time! W

  • Its funny how Star Trek finds ways to place captains in charge of large fleets. I know. I know. Its a TV series but a weak link to have the Picards and Siskos play such command roles in fleets are involved. Still enjoy it and thanks for ur creative uploads.

  • Trivia....Who was the courier?

  • @cfromcass Jake

  • @cfromcass

    Jake

  • Around 3:10 They blew up Oakland hahhahaha

  • this was the funnies DS9 Spoof ever.....I loved it.....unfortunatly it seems alot of people didnt get it....But real hard core DS9 followers loved it.

  • Looks like "T-3 Rise of the Machines" and that movie starring Morgan Freeman & Elija whatever...

  • @cfromcass Deep Impact. ;)

  • @cfromcass

Deep Impact. ;) Except it was from the Bruce Willis one, Armageddon.

  • It looks like clips from "Independence Day", "Starship Troopers" & another I can't think of at the moment. The sound was edited as well.

  • Of course it was. edited...that was the funniest thing ive ever seen.....LOL..awesome....bravooo, bravoooo..Best DS9 Spoof ever.

  • LOL, I just skipped to the battle!

  • Whats the poem?

  • Charge of the light brigade by Tenneson

  • 3:25 lmfao!

  • 2:40 was Terminator 3! the others i ve never seen. i dont watch crap like Star Gate or something...

only Star Trek and Star Wars are the best SF-Series ever!

  • Don't forget Starship Troopers Lol!

  • @debrick2490 jeah...youre right- Starship Troopers too! cheap and immature story too ;o)

  • For those in the know:

7:58 'Dooooooon't forget about us toooo!

Lets meet on the planet, bring your dune buggies and beer!

    lol RLM!

  • I recognize the schenes from Starship Troopers but the clip at 3:08 mins/9:56 showing the SF Bay Bridge and other destruction. Tell me where that came from please.

  • the clip at 3:08 was star fleet intelligence hq after it was attacked by the Breen. but the clips before that like where Moscow were destroyed that was from stargate.

  • What the hell did I just watch? A mess of clips from different shows and movies all put together to show something that didn't even happen in DS9.

The attack was focused on Starfleet HQ and the death count wasn't even that high..it was a symbolic target.

  • I bet Q is laughing his ass off while the Federation fights for it's life.

  • :-)

  • well done!

  • So Star Fleet has built over 200 years nearly 80,000 ships and all they can muster in this little fleet is 650 thats so incredible I don't believe it, and I do not believe there would be any miranda's or excelsiors left they would have all been dismantled for as mentioned Korolev and Rigel class star ships I do not believe the Federation are quite so backward espcially as the Rigel was the replacement to the aging Excelsior in term of support vessels to the Ambassador class expensive or not !

  • the Federation is 8,000 light years in size.

it's starships are spread out over vast distances, sometimes years away from Earth.

also in order to defend a 3 dimensional space you have to keep a lot of starships on all sides. starfleet couldn't pull all its ships for one mission, they still had to keep most ships on the borders.

  • I doubt they'll need many on all sides seeing as the romulans and klingons are their biggest neighbours, a few hundred to keep their eyes on the Tholians and Gorn maybe but I doubt even the Ferengi Alliance will even bother the Federation while in this war seeing as Dominion Space in the Gamma Quadrent is equal to Borg Territory...

  • at this point in the war the Romulans were neutral. and they allowed Dominion ships to pass through their space to attack the Federation. so the Federation had to keep ships on the Romulan border as well.

the Dominion sent ships around the entire Federation in order to get through weak spots in the border and invade unguarded systems.

that's how they were able to conquer Betazed and Benzar

  • The Large Fleet the Vulcan Rear Admiral mentions is all the Dominion have so they wouldn't be testing Federation lines at 8000 light years across otherwise their forces would be spread too far and too thin!

  • that's not all the Dominion has.

the Dominion also has ships spread all over the quadrant.

the big fleets are mainly on the Cardassian/Federation border since that's where most of the fighting is

  • Yes it is all the Dominion have by this point they have very little ship yards left as they were destroyed when the Federation took DS9 and the cloning Facility has by now been destroyed. You have gone from saying they have other borders to survey and this is but a skirmish while the minefield is still in place tosaying they have lots of starships and fighting the Federation on all fronts. There Star ships are bigger and powerfuller 3 galaxy wings equal a battleship!

  • @debrick2490 you think when theres 8,000 light years of three dimensional territory to guard that 80,000 ships is a lot? and theres no reason the older ships of the fleet wouldnt be there,,,its the same in modern fleets a large one is expensive to run and new ships are a massive investment...even if youre modernising you dont just canabilise every old ship you have you would need them to fill in he numbers

  • @GamingLeeLee I didn't say 80,000 was alot I can't believe thats all they have built in 200 years! I would like to think that as a Universe that wants the Human race to always better itself they wouldn't keep anything older than the Ambassador class, The rigels and Korolevs at a push maybe but seeing Miranda's is heart breaking all apart from Captain Bateson in 'Cause and Effect' LoL...!

  • @debrick2490 well yeah I see what youre getting at but how many do you expect them to build? they havent exactly kept EVERY ship they've ever built in 200 years, the oldest ships are of course gone,,,they see long life service (as youve obviously noticed) because its cheaper than buildng a whole new fleet every few decades but they dont just build them and keep them forever ... again its the same with a modern fleet you need only do a lil research to see the same thing recurring again and again

  • @GamingLeeLee We're not talking about our Universe though are we but even if some of our more realistic recurrances did apply I still don't see that they would in the Star Trek universe would still be using anything older than an Excelsior class as they are Galor/ Vor' cha Class rivals and on both sides between the Cardassian and Klingons so many would have been built and Roddenberry estimated that the Federation would have in use around 25,000! Just I hope for every 50 dismantled 50 would be re

  • Comment removed

  • @debrick2490 ahh now youre making a mistake that a lot of people keep making... no we're obviously not talking about our universe but they do base as much as possible off real life, anti matter for example is not fiction, and as for everything else they need to make everything beleiveable and beleive me to most people the idea of building one ship for everyone scrapped a bit daft ... just because its sci-ficiton doesnt mean they;re going to bend EVERY rule there is,,,just the ones of convinience

  • @GamingLeeLee Its not daft to think that they will scrap one for a rebuild Stalin said himself and Dukat did Quantity is a quality of its own but as we know The Federation aren't an Empire and they do have the resources to build new for old just think of how many Intrepid class starships they would get out of recycling alot old ships like the excelsiors seeing as especially if they used Holotechnology i.e. all those spare EMH1's they had doing the mining to help with man power issues! no mistake

  • @debrick2490 yeah but the federation isnt communist and doesnt ahve either dukat or starlin in charge lol I just dont think they go for that kind of approach, even the design of their ships doesnt say that to me (built for multi purpose and highly advanced which must be very expensive compared to say a cardassian design which is a no holes barred warship), tho I would imagine they do recycle the old ships when they do scrap them though, i mean why not?

  • @GamingLeeLee All Alliances have a slightly communist streak its how Politics works look at the Labour Party lol! Federation Space is bigger by three fold in comparison to any of its soverignty neighbours and to be fair as advanced as their Starships are in Star Fleet the biggest ever seen was the Galaxy so as costly as they are I don't the Federations economics being too weakoned espcially as mentioned the Intrepid being built smaller and yet more advanced so for every Galor there should be 2!

  • @debrick2490 ok going to avoid the politics bit,,,thats a whole different convo lol and -shrug- not nessecarily, there never has been much detail on how much the ships cost, for all we know compared to a galor the intrepid may cost 2 or 3 times the amount so there maybe 2 galor for everu 1 intrepid....man all this stuff makes you wish the cannon was a bit more organised :S about the only stuff thats 100% certain half the time is they all have guns :D

  • @GamingLeeLee Sorry about the Politics its quite an offensive subject lol! With Economics in mind though we do know until the Dominion get involved the Cardassians are a third rate power and I'd say the Klingons equals saying that though not even the Romulan/Klingon alliance could thwart the Federation in realistic terms in an ideal universe after the Domion War and Nemesis by 2390 the three should really be part of the Federation but coming back to numbers the Federation is rich enough to build

  • @GamingLeeLee (continued) atleast 2 Intrepids to the Cardassian/ Klingon Galor/ Vor'cha realistically the romulan empire's territory lies in an area thats alot less in resources hence the ships artificial singularity power source! There'fore the Federation should have 2 even 3 Galaxy wings to their D'deridex class'...!

  • @debrick2490 then why did they only build only around 15 galaxy's in the class' entire history? yet their appear to be a lot more D'deridex class ships hanging around than their have been galaxy. Surely if things were as you put it they could have churned out as many of the galaxy as they had done say the nebula class or even akira which appear to be far more numerous which would make more sense given the classes shear power but they didnt

  • @GamingLeeLee This is why I am starting again by saying I can't believe why The Federation are incredibly backward 15 Galaxy wings Canon or otherwise just seems like they would be easily conquerable but they won this war! In my Star Trek universe the oldest of the fleets ships are Korolevs and Rigel class' used Frigates/ destroyers say 2/300 each left in service, ambassador class' used as Galaxy/ nebula support vessals say ~700 in service to me its slightly more realistic by next gen standards

  • @GamingLeeLee (continued) Nebula's/ Galaxy's should be put out in there hundreds and Federation Grave Yards shouldn't really exist in terms of a forward thinking society we shouldn't see ships pre-Ambassador class! That Dyson Sphere for example should be being dismantled for resources just seems the federation wouldn't really win such a war in reality!

  • @debrick2490

the exelsior's are 2. only to the akira class they would be more than a match for an galaxy class in terms of firepower(only shields are less other than that equal) the exelsior is an warship like the akira the galaxy isnt!

  • @debrick2490

the exelsior MK II is far more powerfull than an ambassador class. LUCKY that the storry writers were unable to think about that the defiant got SHIELDS and every other ship not besides the exelsior got transwarp engine's (mentioned when kirk meet the NX exelsior in spacedock) all of them could easily warp to cardassia and wipe out the shipyards but NO ONE THOUGHT ABOUT IT

  • @KoutaSeto The exelsior has been upgraded to mk 4 by next gen standards and would be atleast mk 5 by the time the soveriegn appears so I would imagine the Ambassador would have been given 2 major overhaul + atleast a a few minor upgrades since the galaxy class so I very much doubt the excelsior and its aging hull could stand any such major conflicts especially up against a heavy cruiser...Look at the Soyuz and Miranda class' to be fair they aren't much older than the excelsior and they are poop!

  • @debrick2490 Mirandas are FAR older than the Excelsior. By the time the NX-2000 was built, most Mirandas had been in service for 40 years. They were built at the same time as the Consitution Class, and had undergone the same major refit from TOS and TMP. By the time of the war they were barely 'Destroyers" even with upgrades, were they were once the heavy cruisers of their day. An Ambassador of ANY refit would have whipped the floor with an Excelsior.

  • @debrick2490 Starfleet only ever fielded 8,400 ships at the most just before the Dominion War. Backstage sources indicate that was the size of the fleet after the build up leading to the the War. In piece time they had around 7,000. They were loosing around 200+ ships a month during the war as well. The first six weeks were the worst, as they lost nearly 1,000 ships in that time. These are back stage numbers.

  • @GeneralKenobiSIYE So... what're your "backstage" sources for this number? I've seen an interview with Robert Hewitt Wolfe and Ron Moore online where they've indicated that Starfleet had as many as 40,000 starships. Given that the Dominion-Cardassian-Breen alliance at it's height fielded at least 30,000 ships, the Fed-Romulan-Klingon alliance would have had to have that many, or far more to counter it, and push into Cardassian territory.

  • @Nowhereman10 You've gotta think of what types of ships made those numbers up. The vast majority were bugships. If Starfleet had 40,000 ships, the Federation wouldn't have needed an alliance with the Klingons and Romulans. They could have fought the war on their own. Between the 3 powers, the allies were still out numbered badly. The Federation was the most powerful of the 3. 40,000 ships for the Feds alone don't work in this case. They could have fielded 35,000 for battle and still...

  • @GeneralKenobiSIYE Why wouldn't they? The Federation has other things to worry about. The Dominion was said to be impressive in it's rebuilding efforts, which is why the push to take Cardassia went forward in WYLB. We also saw the Dominion/Breen fleet surrounding Cardassia. It was so huge it was a cloud of ships completely covering it, and the Fed/Rom/Klingon/Carddie fleet was enough to bottle that in. That's tens of thousands of ships.

  • @Nowhereman10 ... and still have 5,000 to patrol their territory. The Federation isn't big enough to need 40,000 ships. If that were the real numbers, no ship would ever be more than a few hours away from the next at maximum warp. If there were really 40,000 ships as you say, they would have been able to muster larger fleets. The average fleet was around 200-300 ships each. Only twice did these numbers break 600. The retaking of DS9 and the push on Cardassia. And so far only 11 fleets..

  • @Nowhereman10 ... thought to exist, as that is the highest number ever heard on DS9. The 7th fleet had only like 197 ships I think, and they had to pull elements from almost all of them to make up the force that retook DS9, only giving them 632 ships I believe. If there were 40,000 Federation ships, the alliance would not have been out numbered. I'd believe 9,000 Feds at the most, as the Romulans never fielded as many ships as the Feds and Klingons. They still fell desperately short in numbers.

  • @GeneralKenobiSIYE That's a blatent lie on your part. In "Sacrifice of Angels", the combined elements of the 2nd and 5th fleets was enough for 624 ships. This leaves out whatever the 9th fleet elements would have added to that number, but did not add since they could not arrive in time. The 7th fleet was rebuilt later on and is referenced again in "Inquistion", having suffered even more losses. So, let's see here, hundreds of ships lost, yet somehow the Federation never runs out of ships.

  • @Nowhereman10 Take that back, the 7th had only 112 ships. After fighting the Breen, only 12 came back.

  • @GeneralKenobiSIYE Yet those numbers were replenished. If the Federation only had a few thousand ships, as you imply, then not only would they have not had enough for the push into Cardassia, allies or not, but they would have lost every ship they had in 2 years of fighting the Dominion War as well as well as the 2nd Borg invasion and the year or so of skirmishing with the Klingons. Not to mention they still would need ships for picket duty on other borders, like the Tholians.

  • @Nowhereman10 Rick Berman and others have said in the past that the Federation had between 7,000-8,000 ships before the start of the war. By WYLB, the Allies had gotten efficient at destroying the Enemy. The Dominion's fleet WAS made up of more bugships than other classes. They had pulled ALL of their remaining fleet to Cardassia. 15,000-20,000 total combined ships is a lot. The Allies were still badly out numbered. Dominion ship production far exceeded Allied production.

  • @GeneralKenobiSIYE Where did Rick Berman say this? The only statements I have seen on the size of Starfleet are from Hewitt and Ron. Also, please provide proof that the the entire Dominion (including Carddie and Breen) fleet was made up of mostly bugships. The fact is that the Dominion had at it's height at least 30,000 ships, as per statements in the episodes. The Federation and allies had heavy losses as well, to, yet were able to replace those losses over several years of fighting.

  • @Nowhereman10 You can SEE the fleet is made of more than half of the attack ships! The battle for DS9! Those bug ships were blowing up left and right! Are you blind? The attack ships always out number the heavier ships to provide support and cover. Several years of fighting? The Dominion War was just under two years long. Even at their best, Planitia Utopia was never able to keep up with losses. If the Dominion had 30,000 ships at it's height, then how was the Federation not able to fight them..

  • @GeneralKenobiSIYE The fleets are also made up of Cardassian Galors, various large battleships, Hideki class ships and more. I say more likely it was closer to 1/4 ro 1/3rd of the fleet was JH attack ships. You forget that in addition to 2 years of fighting the Dominion War, the Federation also fought a war with the Klingons due to manipulation by the Founders, and fought off the second Borg invasion about the same time, losing at least hundreds of ships in the process. Thus several years.

  • @Nowhereman10 .. on their own? If they had 40,000 ships, you would think they could fight the Dominion alliance solo. Why then, were the allies still badly out numbered even after the Romulans joined? They were out numbered from the very beginning. If they had 40,000 ships, as you say, the Allies would have out numbered the Dominion 2 to 1. 40,000 just does NOT work. I also didn't say their fleet was MOSTLY bugships. I said they had more of that ONE class than any other. Big difference.

  • @GeneralKenobiSIYE Are you dense, or just acting that way? Seriously, I seem to run into the same sub-moronic Warsies hiding in every commentary thread here on YouTube. Look, during the War of 1812, the British fleet out numbered the U.S. one over 10 to 1. But they were not able to divert all their ships to that fighting, only part of them since much of the fleet was tied up elsewhere dealing with the French, and other powers. The UFP put the ships it could into the battle at the time.

  • @GeneralKenobiSIYE Rick Sternback calculated that by Next Gen that the Federation had around 30,000 Star Ships!

  • @Nowhereman10 The Federation wasn't able to replace those losses. Sure they could rebuild a fleet's numbers, but replacing losses is not just that. They took the ships form the rest of the fleet not fighting. It's been alluded to before, that the Federation lost over half the fleet in the two years of fighting. These are all common beliefs among true Trekkies, and they were propagated by comments made by the writers and producers of the shows. If you were a true Trekkie, you'd know all this.

  • @GeneralKenobiSIYE Please provide quotes and evidence. I doubt you can, at least not without making shit up off the top of your head. We know about the Dominion and allies having 30k ships thanks dialog from "When it Rains..." where Martok says that 1500 Klingon ships will be modified in one day with the Breen weapon-resistant warp cores, and the Romulan rep says he'll be outnumbered 20 to 1. There is no dialog or anything else to indicate half the UFP fleet was lost. You are just making it up.

  • @debrick2490 also remember they would not have kept older ships in service. The average life span of ships before the 24th century was 25 years. In the early 24th, it grew to 50 with the Ambassador (of which they only built a few) , and with the Galaxy, Nebula, and Sovereign classes' lives around 100 years. The average small to medium ships still only served about 25 years. The Constitution only served as long as it did because of the major refit that doubled it's lifetime.
