  • Remember when people sang and played instruments? Way back when the earth was still young.

  • @smokiebird06 better take a look around then, youll discover some awesome bands (for instance; search up wolf people)

  • The world as we know it will end in BOTTSRGEDDON in 2012.

    Oh well,

  • @BOTTSRGEDDON Hopefully, i'm only 19 and i'm already tired of living.

  • . MAC ATTACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. MAC ATTACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thanx for posting this! love it!

  • @ bobilly1492 well i have to take the opportunity to plug my hero Mick Taylor.

Rolling Stones albums are understandably varied in quality , but if Sticky Fingers were to be their only ever release, then that would seal them as 'best ever blues ' in my opinion.. brings me to tears by the latter part , no really!

  • love it!

  • oh yes

  • Finally , the full version ! Thanks mate !

  • This is the EPIC soundtrack for the movie that sadly never got made.

  • @twajetmech1 Thanx for admitting that, I've always thought the same but didn't want to appear a total fruitloop by admiting it. I don't know what group it was after PG left but I don't think it was Fleetwoodmac as I loved 'em

  • Reminds me of change of The Rainbow after Dio left the band.

  • really a masterpiece! Music that is timeless..

  • holy shit this is some awesome stuff, just began to listen to fleet , can someone recommend me some good stuff of pete ,?

  • @bruncen the album Rumours is just the best album ever

  • @TheStrummerBoy0280 sarcastic?

  • @bruncen WTF ,no man ,its like all there Hits in one album

  • @TheStrummerBoy0280 no man then play on is the best

  • I love Fleetwood Mac without Stevie Nicks. So freakin' groovy.

  • Thanks for posting this! I haven't heard this full version in Ages!!!

  • best Fleetwood Mac song ever!

  • Is so very beautiful, must have it :))

  • Az a négy meg hallgassa meg még egyszer, aztán még és még. Ha még akkor sem tetszik neki, akkor hallgasson Fásy Zsülikét és húzzon el innen.

  • Absolutely beautiful...thanks for reminding us all of Peters strength! His son Liam Firlej is making similarly lovely music in the style of pt 2....

  • Peeter Green był stuknięty, czy był geniuszem? Moim zdaniem jego dzieło samo się obroni, wystarczy posłuchać!

  • Best best ever, I remember exactly where I was when I first heard this. What great memories, THANK YOU.

  • one of the greatest songs of all time... they used to play it here on one of our 'rock' stations... but they just play crap now!!

  • this is actually the song that inspired john paul jones of led zeppelin to write "black dog"!

  • A truly great Rock track..

Knocks the Stones into a cocky rocky-hat

  • This riff needs a wheelbarrow to carry it's balls around while it looks for the fuck it's supposed to give.....ooooooh well

  • This song actually sparked the influence for Zeppelin to write Black Dog

  • Fleetwood Mac in it's original form was THE best English blues band around . When I was young I thought that the blues were an English invention ( Geez what a dumb kid I was ) . It was'nt until I heard Otis Spann that I realized that the blues was an art form that originated in the U.S. and was well over 100 years old .When you speak of FM not only was Peter Green an innovative genius so were Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwan . Comments ??

  • @bobilly1492 Seconded. For me Peter Green is the greatest British blues guitarist ever, And with Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwan they were a FORCE!!! The original incantation of Fleetwood Mac beats the modern one by miles.

  • @bobilly1492Totally agree. Almost! I think Jeremy was brilliant at what he did but I would say he was a brilliant copyist rather than an innovator. Peter was on another stratosphere altogether and Danny was very individual and creative and Peter needed someone like him.

  • @fieldfullofthistles I agree with your comments about Peter & Danny, but I would say that with Jeremy they made a perfect synergy. Jeremy was immersed in the blues style & did his innovation within that framework.

  • @bobilly1492 Love both forms of Fleetwood Mac, and although many will say the original are the best and to a degree they were, certainly at bluesy stuff, '72 onwards were pretty awesome in their own right. Watch Buckingham on 'The Dance' tour dvd and you will understand my liking for the 'New' FM. John, Mick and Chrissie (and Stevie) all hold their own too.

  • It was not about visuals back then.......... They came on stage, played music and then partied with everyone.......... VCRs were not even available back then...............unless you had about 2000 dollars......... The visual came from your eyes..............geezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Thank you. I've been hunting for Part Two.

  • here isa the full version.too many so claimed artists have capitalized on mony never giving credit to the real artists. I was listening to the original Fleet Wood Mac and Peter green in 1969............ Were you born yet? Too many commercial companies are still trying to tarnish the original version let alone the artist... If I said a country artist wrote this would you believe it? Wake up people.

I an glad and was there when it was original........GEEZZZZZZZ fUCK

  • awesome that peter green!!.

  • Thanks for the tune, but could have used much more visuals.....

  • Just Love it!!!!!!

  • everyone knows they began as a blues band so stop talking bullshit

  • I have a London rock orchestra version on one cd. It is sooo badass.

  • Well done for uploading this classic, gone straight in my favs!!! Cheers mate

  • this is the Fleetwood Mac I like

  • Awesome tune! Awesome!

  • Peter Green! Clapton who?

  • @jawnwise Well actually, even Clapton was inspired by Greens XD

  • I know VSAdiana!!!!!!

  • What CD can I find this song on?

  • @xXMetalDJXx .. it's on 8 track :)

  • @xXMetalDJXx It should be on the Cd of their album "Then Play On"

  • I bought this for my dad on vinyl 3 years ago. And he you know what? He hasn't played it once. If i had this on vinyl you'd never see me

  • Oh man... it's the wisdom of Buddha: Oh Well...

    Thanks man... Somerset Son.

  • 6:38 - 7:36

    Pure epicness.

  • Lets not bandy words here. A Fucking Classic !!!

  • Cool font! What is the name of it?

  • @mikeyd42

    Funstuff is the font used!

  • @46busby - Thanks busby! :-)

  • One of my favorite FM tunes if not overall rock songs ever recorded.

  • Classic…

We used to always play this on the juke box while playing pinball in the back of the doughnut shop…it took two plays to get part two because that’s what really makes the song…

Fleetwood Mac was never the same after Peter Green…

  • tune! love the classical medley in the middle!

  • Brilliant posting. Historical masterpiece.

  • Had this on the original vinyl lp when it first was released, someone ripped me off of it in college! :(

  • ah excellent, been trying to find this. itunes is no help, just the live versions

  • Thanks for posting the original version,

  • real fleetwood before stevie took over and changed it all up, amazing the difference lol.....

  • Im thinking suited man in a desert holding a big assault rifle looking cool and walking and there's dead guys behind and a burning building. It's all in slow mo.

  • I like the brown background

  • 1 person disliked this video. IT WASN'T ME THAT'S FOR SURE!!!

  • I'm thinking Tuco (Eli Wallach) in the 100 mile desert. He's on his horse, well hydrated & with a parasol shading his head, while Blondie (Eastwood) is walking.

  • From Fleetwood Mac "Then play on"... wish this original version would have been more prominent on airwaves, "best of" or live, with or w/out Peter.

  • I agree. Certainly the very best in class. That classical medley really complements the Oh Well beginning. it is sad that one never hears it on the regular radio stations.

  • I m listening this for year and a half, it just could be one of the best songs of all time, and that wild west guitar part is worthy of any major western movie

  • I'm very proud that I know this song!

  • ♥ .

  • Saw this orig. band in 1970 at Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood on a raining friday night,That song and music can only be explained as OWell!

  • is the guitar solo spaghetti western music or what I can see the man with no name and lee van cleef

  • One deaf guy tried to listen to this magnificent music, didn't hear anything and clicked the dislike icon;)

  • @piosta18 even deaf people would love this

  • auch nach mehr als vier Jahrzehnten immer noch schön anzuhören

  • Part 2 is such genius its hard to believe!

For me, this is Peter Greens finest moment.

  • @finnsquib I'd have to agree

  • METAAAALLLL \M/

  • Dobro jutro.

  • One of my favs by them and here I find the long version...thank you!

  • I really Love this song, from my day of birth ...........my whole life

  • awesome song

  • Hi, Jeremy

    Thanks for this movie...

  • Peter Green.... genious.... watch The Peter Green Story to find out what a major musician he is, and what damage drugs can do.

  • @gee25bee Danny Kirwan plays the major part of the solos. Kirwan must be the must underrated guitarists of all times.

  • This about my 10th time listening to your post, Love it!

  • When the movie "The Good The Bad and The Ugly" gets just past 3:19 ---- start this song. It synchs up perfectly. I discovered this myself and take full credit for it. As far as I know, no one else has done this before. It's similar to how Dark Side of the Moon / Wizard of Oz synch up.

  • @HonkIfYouLoveHonking When the movie get's just past Three minutes 19 seconds start this song. In case the handy Youtube link provided above confuses anyone.

  • few people know that Fleetwood Mac started out as a blues band

  • @VSAdriana I know baby!!!!!!!!!

  • @VSAdriana I agree............... SAD brainwashed kids...I was and still am a hippie and realized that in 1969.........

  • kids these days think that the current country singers wrote these songs.............I only wish they would stop and investigate like I did......... Give credit where it is due......... If you have never heard of them, that does not mean they were good.

Shit........some of the best songs were written before these young kids in this generation were born............

  • @surferrandys Peter Green was the difference here for sure...his solo records are amazing

  • Yes!

  • A beautiful, lovely and powerful song and I love it's scope and reach. Uncategorizable and that is what makes it so unique and memorable. Thank you for the full version here. :)

  • Landotter1..I don't know if you can still get this LP..but if it's still out there,It's Fleetwood Mac Greatest Hits..circa 1969 on CBS Label(33/1/3)..happy hunting.

  • I've still got the Original LP that these 2 tracks were released on,(oh well parts 1 and2.It was the second ever LP i bought(aged 15)..aaah those were the days..!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOW all these years and I never heard the long version... I love it!!!! Is this on the album or is it a special deal?

  • @Landotter1 i have a reprise of then play on on cd and it has the long version. hope this helps

  • @lilababy76 Thanks for the info!!! :-D

  • Does anyone know if the intrumental part of this song was anywhere in the movie Kill Bill, volume I or II?? I could swear I've heard that in that movie

  • i have been playin for YEARS-33 to be exact.-i heard this today for first time in ages.and i am a beat off on the main riff (E-G/E--A/B-D-etc.) and i am counting it out-- is in 7/8 time? and i used play it in 4/4 ? i dunno any help?

  • @joeknee4767 I used to play this (percussionist) - in 4/4 - yonks ago and always had to improvise to catch up on the beat!! Never did work it out!!! Was probably too spaced out to care, anyway!!!!

  • It was always hard for me to understand the change for the "jungle music" to the classical guitar, with no transition. I love the full version and I'm sharing it with all of my friends. Thanks!

  • awesome

  • Peter Green, the most emotional guitar player ever!!!!

  • what year was this version made?

  • @micropope November 1969. I'm guessing this is the version from the 2nd US release of the album 'Then Play On', rather than the original single.

  • boy, this song has power!!!

  • this music has power!!!

  • Visst var det vackert Agge ??

  • Visst var det vackert Agge ??

  • this is brilliant pure and simple.

    louie

  • @UPTHElRS certainly agree, really more than awesome!!

  • This is one of those lost classics. Thanks for posting this one. Grab the kids..."This is REAL music, children."

  • I love when Tom Petty plays this in concert now....

  • @crissyb123 thankyou for the tom petty turn on. Absolutely awesome

  • perfect music

  • Masterpiece

  • A Peters Green masterpiece. Thanks for the uploading

  • Hey, I'm happy for the repeated minutes; love that long outro. Thanks.

  • Comment removed

  • best era of fleetwood mac.

  • Great song, especially the instrumental at the end.

  • Thanks for upload!

    Great song!

  • I don't know if you noticed, but 2:18-3:22 is exactly the same thing as 3:23-4:27 (the reason being that the two were origanally independant tracks on opposite sides of the single). You should delete that redundant minute as the sound engineer who half-assedly compiled the reissue should have done 40 years ago.

  • so much better then the female singer

  • Amazing, thankyou for uploading.

  • @nniFymereJ This is fantastic....many thanks for upload. Stunning.!!

  • OH WELL

  • Awesome.

  • Thanks for giving us the full version. I hadn't heard it in a loooooong time.

  • this song inspired Black Dog by led Zeppelin, particularly the a capella singing

PEOPLE....people people people all your sexy drum lovers out there. PEOPLE I MADE A DRUM VIDEO COMPILATION I TOTALLY NEED COMMENTS ON IT, check my profile the first vid is Greatest 60 Drum Songs of Rock n Roll 60-44, if u love percussion please check it out

  • Ce morceau bien travaillé par Peter Green le guitariste évoque en moi des souvenirs lointains de la jeunesse.

  • the section starting at 2:20 always made me think of an old Western movie with cowboys riding through the desert.

  • stunning

  • This is great...Thanks

  • Brings back fond memories, especially the guitar and recorder section. Thanks for posting this. I'd searched the full version on the net before, but never found it earlier.

  • Best song they had... IMHO.

    Thanks for the long version.

    Take Care,

    Louie

  • Beautiful, haunting, hopeful. Masterful story telling... Peter, Green but not callow.

  • brilliant. Thanks so much for posting this.

  • Is there an Oh Well part 1 & 2 LIVE anywhere?

  • yes, on playlist dot cee oh em ;}

  • Brings back wonderful memories of the late 60's, pre-sea training college 'Worcester' down in Kent.

  • Same here. California Maritime Academy.

  • This band embraced so many different styles, and yet they get such a bad rap... God help any guy who admits to liking them. This is an amazing and beautiful song.

  • I have some very, v e r y fond memories of this song, but that's another story. Thanks for putting the full version up. This song without the classical medley just leaves you hanging.

  • @jayniesgottagun You hear it as classical? It sounds latin to me

  • @Django5198 Latin....????? The second part is very similar to a Ennio's Morricone Spaghetti-Western soundtrack film with peruan flutes of the Andes.....

  • Thanx Jeremy :-)

Recorded that on reel tape in '75, but the DJ of BFBS Germany babbled right into the break part 1&2... Then I bought the LP, cat scratched it...

    Viele Grüße aus Deutschland :-)

  • nniFymereJ, Hi Jeremy, Thanks again for this version, as well as for the lyrics.

The vinyl sounds magical, pops and analog hisses and all.

  • Thanks for the long version! For me, the second part of this song conjures the feeling of an Eastwood Western, with hints of Spanish guitar. I wish more rock songs were long like this. Other long ones: Loggins&Messina"Angry Eyes"; The Outlaws"Green Grass and High Tides"; and Iron Butterfly "In A Gadda Da Vida", the Heavy Metal Grandaddy of them all, originally titled "In the Garden of Eden", but changed because the record label wasn't comfortable with the Biblical reference.

  • @TheKidKurt Actually, TheKidKurt, that's not how it became "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida," but it's all good. There's several different stories of how it came about, the singer being drunk, the drummer not being able to clearly understand the words through his headphones and giving the song as that name to someone. Who knows what actually is true.

Anyway, I FREAKIN love this song!

  • Finally the full version!! Thanx

  • What album is this (the full version) from ?

    Thanks.....

  • @circle43cm "Then Play On"

  • thanks, verbatumverbotten

Today I purchased this "Then Play On" at a used record store at Reno, Nevada for $6 - a few scratches and looking forward to listening to the entire album.

  • @circle43cm Don't remember the name of the album, but it has a picture of a naked man riding a horse, I believe.
