They've been a band for a very long time and when you consider that Isaac was early 20s when the first CD was released, and he's early 30s now.. you can't expect an artist to stay the same for so long anyway. It wouldn't be very interesting or experimental for themselves, and I think that should definitely be respected. It is their art, and like you said, if it's going to remain sincere, there should be change.
Who else is collecting the color 7" singles? Get them at your local independent record stores! I've gotten both Satellite Skin and Autumn Beds, I'm psyched for the remaining two.

unless they are at red rocks. playing to a bunch of college douchbags. modest mouse was better live in the mid 90's. when they played 30 minute sets wasted. modest mouse deserves their success. but i saw them at an ice skating rink in pittsburgh 6 or 7 years ago and 13 year olds were being dropped off by their parents. fucking cool.

Yeah, Modest Mouse was much better in the 90's but their new music isn't bad, much better than all of the other mainstream music out. Wish they'd have more songs like their old stuff though.
