  • I loved this series and this theme. I want to learn the sax just so I can learn this song!

  • This score is to Boston as what the Law & Order theme is to New York City.

  • @codename617 And that' s"Law & Order" not Law & Order SVU. :p

  • @codename617 Which one is your preference??

  • @dal4018 Between Law & Order and SVU, Law & Order defiantly. Between L&O and Spenser, well i haven't really seen an episode of Spenser and it's kinda hard to choose the themes because they are both so unique. Well the Spenser theme is new to me so i kinda like that more i guess.

  • @codename617 Point taken sir

  • Love it!!!

  • As the series author, Robert Parker, said, "Robert Urich played himself". And, ... what a wonderful character he played. Not Parker's Spenser but another Spenser well worth our attention. Of course, Avery Brooks added depth to the role of Hawk that was not in the scripts or the novels. Along with Barbara Stock, a great group of actors. If only the writing had been better, particularly in the third season. Greg Gibbs

  • Classic Theme...Classic Tv...

  • great show hawk= sspeenseeer

  • Hard to believe this came from the same guy that wrote the "Growing Pains" theme.

  • @MrLogoman007 You change with the times.

  • Robert Urich had ZERO problems doing psysical stuff for this show. He was very fit and did them quite well.

  • @Tecknodance1100 Actually, Robert Urich did say in an interview that he was glad when the show ended because he wasn't crazy about doing the physical stuff anymore even though he was still in good shape.

  • Living in Florida and being from New England, I would love watching reruns of SFH and the theme, especially seeing the scenes filmed in Boston. Unfortunately, Urich wasn't so fond of the show on account of all the physical stuff he had to do.

  • This was a criminally underestimated show based on a wonderful series of novels. RIP Robert Urich and Robert Parker.
