OSU made it to the big game two years in a row, and, yes, we know they lost badly in both. However, how many other teams, well over 100, would have loved the chance to play in that game just one year, let alone two years ago. Plus, they beat Miami in 2002, so fans aren't living in denial. It's people with narrow focus and looking at history with one eye closed that have the problem.

no, the reason the playoff keeps getting voted down is that it is a colossally stupid idea. we'll still have stupid disputes (i.e. which teams to pair together, who to leave out, what if team #1 beat team #4 and team #2, but not team #3, etc.), and we'll ruin the bowl system, which allows for 7-4 teams to cap off their seasons with satisfying wins rather than embarrassing losses in horrendous mismatches. and seriously, why is it so fucking important that we have an undisputed national champion?

USC had the defensive tools to stop Florida, and their offense is balanced enough to gain consistent yardage at a slow pace, meaning UF would have even less time to score.

USC and Utah were the best teams this year.

Sorry Buckeyes, they schedule one decent OOC game a year, then play in the Bad 10. Three creampuffs, one tough game a year, then run through the sorry Big Bad 10, with "teams" like Iowa, Purdue, Penn State, MIchigan State, and the rest of the sorry lot.

We play USC this and next... That more than balances out three "cream puffs"... Who else schedules elite teams like USC, Texas, and Oklahoma? Most Big 6 conference teams play four cupcakes at home. The Big 10 is no more soft than the Pac, Big East, and ACC. Maybe you should learn some facts instead of listening to the boneheads on ESPN for your opinion.

Hey, keep playing Div 1AA schools if you want, I could care less. But prepping with those schools before playing USC is a big, big mistake, in my opinion.

THe big bad Buckeyes, bullies of the Bad 10, are coming out west to get worked on 9/13. It's going to be so funny watching those Buckeye videos again...are you familiar with the "Don't Cry Out Loud" series on Youtube? Check it out, it's hilarious.

It didn't hurt us against Texas or Washington State in '02 when we held the co-Pac Ten champs to 7 points. Everyone begins there schedule with cupcakes so don't crucify OSU for doing it.

I agree in that I didn't like the fact that OSU had teams from the MAC and Youngstown State on the schedule. Tressel scheduled Y-Town State as a favor to them (money) since they gave him a chance to be the head coach. As for the conference, there's nothing OSU can do about that. The Pac-10 has Washington and Washington State, and the Big 10 has Iowa and Minnesota. You play who you have to play. And, yes, the USC-OSU game looked like a scrimmage for USC this year.
