  • YES YES i found it, thank you for posting this... im in love with Egypt, cleopatra, king TUT even thou hes not in this movie but i love this movie....

    thanks sooo much!!! :)

  • she's nothing compared to Elizabeth Taylor. Such a wack remake of the 1963 Cleopatra ! LIZ!! ftw!

  • Where can i look the movie on Gemannnn : DDD?

  • Many thanks:-))))

  • It's sad that she had to become queen when egypt was dying already. A hundred years earlier and she might have been able to become the ruler of Rome.

  • is the guy at 8:25 from the mummy?

  • @palominodream Yes. That is correct. He is from The Mummy.

  • Is this a joke? spoof?

  • Swedish subtitles! Perfect for ME!

  • @NKL77

I know its Julius Caesar not James Caesar???

  • Where can I watch this movie in german :( ???

    please..

  • shes the first famous celebrity =), guess shes goddamned beautiful..

  • Why do I have the urge to say Beam Me Up Scotty when I see Ceaser...

  • who made the film??

  • what can you see at moment 1.52???

i see the sign of sun and eye

  • and of course Egyptian gods

  • ONE OF THE BEST VERSIONS OF KLEOPATRA

  • The Ptolemy (Cleopatra's family) dynasty was descended from the GREEK Macedonian Ptolemy Soter, established as ruler of Egypt by Alexander the Great's conquest of Egypt. Therefore, Cleopatra's line was started with a Greek white male, however does that mean that Cleopatra was white, No. The line was mixed with inbreeding and sexual liaisons between the monarchs and the people of Africa. Still, no Roman historian ever described her being black. She was probably a mixture of different races.

  • @HistoryMovieGirl345 thank you for uploading

  • People doesn't matter. She was A queen. And being in that sun she wouldn't of been white if was - hello tan. But the doesn't matter

  • CLEOPATRA WAS FROM EGYPT WHICH WAS A BLACK QUEEN FUCK OUTTA HERE U WHITE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES TRYNA TAKE CREDIT FOR OUR SHIT

  • @09izminemane read some history her dynasty was GREEK...are you saying if I was born in China I would look Chinese?? Obviously not.

  • @Nicollie1062 She was a mixed breed though seriously

  • @09izminemane i think u one of the dumbest ppl on yt what r u like 12?

  • @MsJilsephonie Dumbest haha does go back to Africa (brought our ancestors here) sound like Cleopatra was Greek lmao

  • Cleopatra was a Greek, not Egyptian. Good actress, but is not white enough to play a white queen.

  • @ wassupconan Thanks for your input, I value everyones opinion. :)

  • I read somewhere that she was naked when she was revealed in that rug.

  • People seem confused so let me clear some things up. The Isrealites/Jews were the Egyptian's slaves. The ancient egyptians were people of color and later when Rome conquered they of course became of lighter complexion. But there's no way a group of people could live in the hot desert region of AFRICA and not have African characteristics. They were of African and Asian descent which makes sense, since the Asians were so close. People find it hard that a black race were kings and queens smh

  • @BeautifulbyDesign18: Well said !

  • this film is soooooooo sweet :)

  • James "CAESAR" Bond

  • she looks latina

  • Now we all know Cleopatra was black. That's white folks for you.

  • @blackbolt75 I've read that she was actually of Greek decent, so she probably had tan skin, but not black skin. Interesting eh!

  • WHAT A JOKE!!!

    CLEOPATRA was BLACK

WATCH MY CLEOPATRA VIDEO ... BBC NEWS has confirmed this along with new findings on her sister's skeleton

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHAAHAHHAHAAHAAHHAHAHAAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA

  • @dogons2k12 Where is your video located?

  • @dogons2k12

    Ancient Egyptians weren't Black.

And she was an inbred GREEK anyway. Stuff this afro-revisionist nonsense.

  • I love Timothy Dalton (Caesar) and history. That are the reasons why I watch this film.

    Cleopatra is interesting.

  • i remember watching this when i was a kid and for some reason it had a big impact on me. :D now i remembered it again. thank you :)

  • I LOVED Leonor Varela as Cleopatra!

  • I hope Angelina Jolie's 'Cleopatra' will finally do the true story justice.

  • Would've been cool if Cleopatra's other brother, Ptolemy XIV was mentioned, yet this movie was not bad at all.

  • Based on analysis on Arsinoe's bones, Cleopatra was part Greek and Egyptian.

  • The novel, 'Memoirs of Cleopatra' was brilliant!

  • I'm sorry...would it have killed them to at least get Egyptian looking actors? Or someone with a tan? The Prime Minister is laughable, the "Queen" looks like she'd be happier in Beverly Hills...at least the little King looks Egyptian.

  • how odd the actress that plays Cleopatra has the same maiden name I have!!

  • "A gift from Cleopatra?"

Yes Caesar it's a gift that you will most certainly enjoy.

    (reveals rug)

Congratulations!! You get the girl and the rug for the price of one.

  • CEASARE COME IN WITH A SERIOUS FACE

  • Havent Timothy Dalton played in two Cleopatra films?,one as mark anthony and in this one as ceacar?

  • Comment removed

  • LOLOLOLOL omid djalili!!! Anybody who doesnt know him, he was the Arab guy who Ceasar executes.

  • I havent read the book, but i think it is an ok film. I am doing the ancient egyptians for my topic at school, and i have watched a few things about cleopatra. I quite like tgis film, despite the ok actin. It seems accurate enough. Accurate enough to get the names and general story correct. I think that the actress of cleopatra is beautiful enough to be like cleopatra.

  • @horselovers12 There actually were several, "Cleopatra's." Go look under the British Museum. I saw three threre if I remember correctly. :)

  • @horselovers12 you have to watch the 1963 one! it is such a beautiful classic. "getting the names right" isn't much of an achievement ;P i haven't seen much of this one yet, but to portray caesar as coming to collect a simple debt, rather than in pursuit of pompey the great is...really odd. almost offensive, really.

  • ceasar come with a serious face

  • @MaddyPatty524 its a movie, yes most of the facts are wrong but people were demanding that there be a movie of cleopatra, soo they directors granted their wish. if you dont like it go masturbate or something.

  • @MaddyPatty524 bla bla bla

  • ceasar face when i saw the king he was like you got to be joking this is just a kid .

  • yo the man face ceasar face serious when him find out seh a 12 years old a run a country.

  • i don't wrong ceasar i would't want a 12 years old boy to be my king of my country.............

  • @MaddyPatty524 you don't know what a movie is!!! if you don't like this film

  • @MaddyPatty524 you don't know what a movie is!!!

  • Who gives a crap about what ethnicity or nationality Cleopatra was. Just enjoy the movie guys

  • the real Cleopatra was not black she was mixed

  • good music by trevor jones

  • I think the movie is great except for one tiny little historical innacuracy. THE REAL CLEOPATRA WAS BLACK!!!

  • @19EHF No her bloodline was mixture but mostly Greek. The actress skin tone is close enough for the real Cleopatra

  • @19EHF

sorry but Cleopatra was not black! She was white or mixed but certainly not black! BLack people didn't exist in the lagid dynasty. All her family was greek. Black people were their slaves but not their wifes or husbands^^

  • @MrTiti3100 hey dude in ancient Egypt, you had the priests, rich people and all other people were slaves. There was a huge social gap back then. Slaves were gotten from every where not just black people.

  • @19EHF no thats incorrect- trhe real cleopatra was decended from the ptoleny's, thier orgins lie in macedonia and greece, alexandria was home to many south europeans as a result of the ptolemy rule after the demise of alexander the great, the real cleopatra was a mixed race of south european and northern african decent- its quite indisputed among historians- she was definatly not black

  • @MaddyPatty524 i agree, the book is AMAZING, really well-written and as historically accurate as a textbook (Margaret George always does pristine research). that being said, the scenery and drama here are an indulgence, even if it isn't the best movie.

thank you for posting this (to HistoryMovieGirl)!

  • I like this version so much better because it actually connects to ancient world in realistic way like you know not too "polished and proper" lol

  • @MaddyPatty524 this movie is not a documentary. it was made to entertain, not inform. and the acting is great at some parts, fine at most and horrible rarely.

  • i wasn't expecting history to make such stupid movie...wat idiots

  • Someone said having one white ancestor doesnt make you white

so I guess for Cleopatra's Skin color we can never really tell

  • I just got the DVD of this wonderful movie a few days ago, and finished watching it an hour ago. I highly recommend it. Te DVD features 38 minutes of additional footage not included on the VHS version of the film. BUY the DVD. It's worth it.

  • Thank you for uploading it! I love this movie and my PC won't let me use media players or websites where I could watch online.

  • she definitely has the air of cleopatra!

  • Weird irony... This was made in 1999. Well, in 1983, Timothy Dalton, who played Caesar, had a different role - Antony in Antony and Cleopatra. Just an odd bit of trivia for you. :)

  • @PanBoleyn, i saw that theatre production on DVD, and it was horrible. I like Timothy Dalton and Shakespeare, but the production itself was bad. It would have probably been better as a big-budget film version of the play.

  • @BibleJoker2Face Pity. The irony is still there, though.

  • @PanBoleyn, yea, but very interesting. I think Mr. Dalton was excellent, as usual, not only in that production, but also here as well.

  • is this the 177 minute version?

  • The Cleopatra story is so magnificent that any version done can not go wrong by much.

  • Damn Pothinus answered Caesar's question on Cleopatra mad quick. He surely does hate her.

  • i disagree w/ ppl who call the ORIGINAL cleo ugly! when i googled the statue of her her head looks odd becuase of the head ornament she was wearing (wich most likely has a religious meaning) but when i googled and found statues of her head alone w/o the head ornament that covers her features then compared it to the statue of her body i really must say u have gotta be a faggot to put her down like that cuz she wasnt ugly or black at all. Those coins baring her face have been damaged or something

  • @True2TheBlueYoViGang

Wrong you are, she was Black, All Early Egyptians were black

it was mixed marriages with Arabs that lead to the lighter skin

  • @Tbone180000

Actually...Cleopatra was most likely blonde.(Though even if she was a brunette, she still had lighter skin.) She was Mesopotamian. She wasn't dark skinned at all.

  • @alisvolatpropriis519 but she wasnt that pretty either

  • @Tbone180000

Actually...Cleopatra was Greek by ancestry, and Egyptian only by birth. So it's more likely that she had blonde or brown hair and light skin than the common idea of her having dark skin, dark hair and dark eyes.

  • @Tbone180000 yea she cuda been mixed or tanned but i doubt she was black she so doesnt have a black looking face... she looks white at least her facial features do... can u belive she looked that gorgeous(her statue) at 38??? Thats fucking hot for a 38yr old she looks so young like shes 20 @statue of her. She bathed in milk, used aloe all the time, used castor oil in her hair and rubbed scented oils into her skin not only was she cute but she mustve smelled fucking fantastic! Eliz Taylor died :(

  • @True2TheBlueYoViGang

Black is used a term coined up

Skin color is determined by the amount of sun present in a region

and how that affects the gene, to speak more objectively

Africans with the darkest skin are at the most Brown

  • @True2TheBlueYoViGang

She was that gorgeous, thats why she turned Cesar's head

according to what I have been done, I cant prove it

It seemed weird for a Black woman to have Cesar under her finger

thats why we didnt see Africans playing Cleopatra at the beginning

  • @Tbon they kept theyre bloodline pure now that i recall she did marry her bro to ascend to queen she was greek and royal bloodlines fucked FAMILY so no AFRICAN MIX. So sad she fucking died the way she did but ironically she fullfiled her prophecy she was Isis (Isis the God let an ASP bite take her to heaven). Its so fucking cruel the way she went down. She tried so hard to bring her nation to glory... her and the All Mighty Caesar when he died... shit went sour. She lost her trumph card. :s

  • This is not a very good movie about Cleopatra at all...If you want to see an awesome Cleopatra movie watch the 1963 version with Elizabeth Taylor. She does Cleopatra with perfection.

  • @WishfulFancy I know. Elizabeth will always be Cleopatra to me.

  • @WishfulFancy, while the 1963 version used the Roman historian Gaius Suetonius Tranquilus and other ancient sources as the basis for the screenplay, I think Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton overacted in most of their scenes. You want a clearer picture of history, see the 1963 version, but if you want to see Cleopatra as more than a whiny bitch, see this version. I don't think Cleopatra was a whiny bitch. Accordig to historical records, she was very smart.

  • @BibleJoker2Face This version makes her seem like a bitch and a brainless whiney slut with no sense, also the chick that plays her can't act to save her life adding to the complete historical inaccuracy. I was being very kind when I left the first comment. But thanks for the trolling love xx

  • @WishfulFancy, I think not. I like both film versions. Well, we can't expect complete accuracy from Hollywood. i think this one is a better portrayal of Cleopatra as she really was: a shrewd woman and cunning politician.

  • @BibleJoker2Face You strike me as the type that would.

  • @BibleJoker2Face Indeed

  • @WishfulFancy, my mistake. I accidentally pressed the Post button. I do expect a certain degree of historical accuracy when it comes to the main facts of history whenever a biopic on a person is made.

  • swedish subtitling?

  • hi. I have a question. is there a difference in the running time of the VHS version of "Cleopatra" (1999) and the DVD version? Because the VHS runs 139 minutes, whereas I read that the running time on the DVD is 177 minutes. is that really so, and if so, can you please tell me what's the difference between the VHS and DVD?

  • @MaddyPatty524 what does her accent have to do with her acting??? shes a great actress to me. And ofcourse its awful to see ceasar die. He was a great soldier or whatever he was

  • @oceandimond caesar is the first consul of rome

  • @fleurgi THERE YOU GO! THANKS :D

  • excellent !!! i have been searching for this so long !! thanks a million . such accurate depiction of those times and such a beautiful movie .

  • Excellent movie however I kept expecting Richard Burton to appear from out of nowhere. Now THAT was Caesar! <3

  • @Kell1295 no that was Mark Antony!

  • @dinio02 You are correct. he should have played Caesar...

  • thank u so much for the movie, was very very good.i love this movie so much more than cleopatra 1963,with elizabeth talor,i think this one is better with leonor varela.

  • With the subtitles in swedish, it kind of remember me of the opening from the Holy Grail of the Monty Python XD

  • subtitulada al espanol pls.

  • sera que lap odeis traer subtitulada en espanol, pls?

  • funny, that never happens when i buy a new rugg...that it! i'm buying from egyptian dealers from now on.hahaha

  • @luname82 lol

  • Leonor Varela

  • I don't think I've seen a single film about her in which the historical accuracy was spot on - this included, but I do prefer the 1963 version.

  • @VladdieAndSteffie yup.the 1963 version was amazing.taylor did a great job.beauty isn't enough to be influential and taylor did a great job at presenting a cleopatra that was yes beautiful but also smart,proud,likeable,strong....

  • @MaddyPatty524 hold on a second. you are right about the pompey thing but the acting was not terrible only someone whos lost their mind would say something like that cuz all the actors in the movie were great!!! especially cleopatra!!!! if you dont like the movie than please dont comment bcuz its ridiculous to see such a negative comment on a brilliant movie like this one!!!

  • @MaddyPatty524 cleopatra is hot though

  • why the hell is cesear bullying the king, even though Egypt was under rome, does he have to act that pathetic. he should act dignify like a general and give face to the little king.

  • @Mandinko23 not when there are debts to be paid, and the little king and his treasury haven't paid them. Why be respectful to people who disrespect you by not paying their dues? Fuck the little brat.

  • Hehe its just fine that you have swe sub...

well for me is it good...

  • älskar den här filmen det är så bra att det är svensk text jippi

  • @MissAliena2010 The version with elizabeth taylor was SPECTACULAR. It was sexual, more accurate, the acting was 100x times better, the sets were marvelous for its time and it was full of soul. But that's just my opinion :)

  • @kissachris the 1963 1 was NOT historicly accurate at all!

  • Ugh! Every time they spell her name wrong! It's supposed to be Kleopatra, not with a c! If you're gonna do a movie based on her life, at least get her name right.

  • @nsb5Q322 Just so you know, they spell it differently in other languages. Both are right!

  • @nsb5Q322 Just so you know, both are right! Some languages use the C and others use the K so PEACE

  • MAN, THAT'S AN ENTRANCE!

  • i saw this in class there were like 13 sex scenes my teacher was like OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS

  • SHE ROLLED OUT OF THE RUG!She's crazy, sooo crazy. But I do like Cleopatra.Because she was crazy

  • this is the best cleopatra movie ever!- Thanks for posting!

  • haha cleapatra was so beautiful.

i havent seen this in forever yoo

  • they dont show her gettin fadded every 5 seconds lol

  • Didnt he(Caesar) come to Ptolemaic Egypt to pursue Pompeius Magnus that had fled there(and gotten assasinated) mainly and not to collect debts.(even though he did seize the oportunity once there:P)

  • @KINGKENNYTHEHOLY he did . and very smart doing so lol but i guess they overlooked that didnt they lol

  • Gotta love this movie couldnt find an other movie like it im addicted 2 movies like dis

  • What is the problem? if she was from Greece , Macedonia or Egypt , To day at 1999,Leonor Varela the actress playing Cleopatra she is actually, from Chile in South America.
