The rider got a nasty tank slaper that brought on this nasty wobble do to his broken steering damper, racing bikes with more than 200hp at the back wheel and 140 kg light to their very limits whilst on imperfect public road surfaces, bumps est.…. you need a steering damper and you need it to be working. @fishfingers1985 No i think this is whats known as a tank slapper ... usually occures when something on the front end is out of alignment ( warped disk , steering dampner ? , or front wheel is lifted and comes back down slightly out of alignment and the bike tries to correct itself as the force leaves it ... thats my understanding , im sure somebody else might know a bit more about it maybe

This happened to me once at about 100mph or so "down on the tank". I found sitting up and relaxing my grip on the handlebars while gently closing the throttle got it back under control. Bike was a RD350LC.
A little over 20years ago a 12 year old boy was playing with his basketball in the street on Acto Street, NJ. Some teenagers who were drag racing on motorcycles weren't paying attention and ran him over and killed him. it is said that if you go on Acto Street, turn off your car, and blink your headlights 3 times you will see the figure of him bouncing the ball. @ASKIAOTA a steering damper. It won't allow the forks/bars to swing from side to side this quickly. I prevents this from happening.

I saw this on the speed channel I think... this was some highly decorated european racer with countless wins... he talked about how this was his backup bike which had been having some issues with the chassis... he actually survived this crash but was really fucked up...

This happened to me once at about 100mph or so "down on the tank". I found sitting up and relaxing my grip on the handlebars while gently closing the throttle got it back under control. Bike was a RD350LC.
