Definitely an unsung Hero of the Greatest Superhero movie, to this day, ever made. I always loved his performance (even if it's Reeves's Voice) when Clark says "All those things I can do. All those Powers. And I couldn't even save him."

I don't really understand why they didn't use East's voice.  It wasn't terrible. Actually, it was pretty decent. Oh well, it's Hollywood.

I can't hear Jeff's voice because my computer has no sound. I've never understood why they didn't just get Chris Reeve to play teenage Clark. Jeff doesn't look much like Chris, and he doesn't look all that much younger than CHris either. He was well skinny before he started doing weights, They should have shot the farm scenes then.

i don't know who made that decision, but what the hell were they thinking? on the director's cut blu ray, donner says they dubbed the voice because of jeff's accent, which makes no sense, because jeff is from missouri. jeff east sounds perfect, and the performance is better with the original voice too. i don't get it.

Heh... when thinking about it I always thought his voice never felt genuine, without ever knowing it was over dubbed.

Christopher Reeve was the best Superman ever, but it was egotistical and selfish of him to insist his voice be dubbed over East's voice. East's voice was PERFECT for a young Kent. Reeve put himself above the movie and that is never the right thing to do.

Chris Reeve felt it would work better with his voice for the overall effect of the movie so they dubbed it, East didn't find out till the movie was released.

@PotterMan21  yes it was. it was shown on national TV @ first on ABC-TV in NY. i've recorded them on two VHS tapes totaling three hours. 42 mins. of extra footage was shown i have the paperback telling the full story of the movie. there are tons of more unseen footage stored away that we may never see. also the movie is over 30 yrs. old. i guess there won't be any anniversary edition for now.

Jeff East Voice it's great, so, why was deleted his voice and why dubbed Christopher Reeve his voice...?

I Mean, the voice it was perfect for the young clark kent.

Chris Reeve, best superman ever, but i think the voice for young clark kent, it's better with the voice original of Jeff East.
