  • Big Brown was little more than the result of Rick Drugtows steroid and juiceman practices. He was loaded on steroids for the 1st 2 legs of the TC and Drugtow admitted he took him off of them for the Belmont. Drugtow has a confirmed 68 recorded medication violations in his career at 15 different tracks. The International Racing Commission has asked the NYRA to permanently ban him. They will likely not do it because they dont care about racings integrity any more LOL

  • We will have to wait a lot to have another 3yo colt with the incredible talent Big Brown had...

  • "Wait a lot"? Didn't you see Mine That Bird throw everyone a beat down last weekend? haha

  • hmm... monster

  • Now that the Belmont is over, the other jockeys know how to beat Big Brown: How to move, where to get at him, etc..It'll be interesting now leading up to the BC.

  • You Got That Right - Big Brown Busted out of the gate and ran right up another horses' ***. I was standing right at the Wire. I saw it. Kent pulled him str8 and took control of the HORSE race. Always will wonder what wouldv'e happened if he let Big Brown Run. - Just let Big Brown Run. Hung on and let the horse Dictate the Race. Man - "Birdstone is gonna make em' earn it today"; ...6-4-8-9 Paid 48k that Day. Man......

  • Desormeaux should have let Big Brown run his race.

  • if you compare this race to how Big Brown raced in the Belmont. You can see that Big Brown really got bottled up in the Belmont. Everyone saw how Big Brown bucked and reared his head early in the race. So I think after that Big Brown didnt really feel that much like racing. Which would explain the result.

  • I guess Cloppy the Horse did get Big Brown (If you saw Conan O'Brien last Friday, you'd get it).

  • I think it's obvious he won't be racing for a while. Big Brown was definitely not 100% healthy. He never looked right in the Belmont

  • OUCH you put that in print?

  • RICK DUTROW JR. TOOK A BIG BROWN DUMP ON US, BUT, ALTHOUGH LAST, BIG BROWN IS NOT LEAST NOT UNLOVED

Rick Dutrow needs to shut up. A "slight" quarter crack injury takes just shy of six weeks to adequately heal. Lucky Big Brown was off of the anabolic steroid Winstrol or things might have been worse. Dutrow just devalued a racehorse that is already genetically plagued by his feet. There is no Breeder's Cup. Please just let this horse out to pasture!

  • LMFAO totally overhypped POS, had been beating up on nothing. Got exposed for the TC pretender he is. 100 Beyer in the Preakness said it all, LMFAO hypesters LMFAO,.

  • Casino Drive has been scratched from the Belmont!

  • HAHA no triple crown for U!!!

  • From about 1:45 to 1:55 in this video, you see what BB can do. He opened up about eight lengths on a group of Grade 1 stakes winners. Quarter crack or not, it's BB by 10 lengths in the Belmont.

  • BELMONT IMPORTANT UPDATE...Casino Drive was unable to go to the track this morning (FRI) for his jog..he has a slight stone bruise on his left rear foot! This is important news, there is no way he is going to heal in a day and no way he can go 1 1/2 miles without all four feet being completely sound!

  • What's a breeze?

  • A breeze is basically a work out for a horse. In a breeze the horse is slowly accelerated to the speed the trainer wants(usually about 12seconds per 1F or 1/8 of a mile) and then allowed to run without urging. If the trainer wants the horse to work faster, then the jockey could aggressively ride the horse(ie use the whip) and that is called Handily

  • Thank you! :)

  • It's a real shame that we're still talking about horse racing after all the crap we've seen on the track. This horse shouldn't be racing nor should any other...God bless the horses who entertain us pathetic people.

  • It's amazing, right around 1:45 you can just see him flip the switch and jet it

  • he'll be fine. but if hes not they won't run him, they would rather lose the crown than lose a whole bloodline and a great horse.

  • McKinlay also intensified the solution of alcohol and iodine to ward off possible infection. "We changed the solution and made it a little stronger," McKinlay said. "By Monday, it should be in fabulous shape."

  • The problem is, that is not a normal tactic to fight an Abscess! Would you take antibotics for an infection with the thought that you would increase the dose later? It is just wierd and makes me wonder if we have been given the entire truth about the situation. I know what Ian said, I am just saying that it doesn't make sense!

  • I wonder if his in-bred pedigree has anything to do with his hoof problems.

  • Interesting thought! While BB's nicks include Northern Dancer 3x3, Damascus 3x4 and Round Table 4x5, those horses all were basically sound, having run 18, 21 and 66 races respectively. I would point out that the blame might be better found in his Sire Boundry 8 races, Dam Mien 2 races, Paternal Grand Sire Danzig 3 races and Maternal Grand Sire Nureyev 3 races. One interesting point is that BB's GGGgrand sire Nearco is nicked 10 times in his pedigree! Nearco raced only 14 times in the 1930's

  • I forgot Danzig was in his line, he had a lot of problems. Hope his babies don't have problems. But BigB is VERY in-bred.

  • With Northern Dancer, Bold Ruler, Turn-to and Red God all cousins, there are tons of horses that are excessively In bred! No horse has his name in pedigree's more often than the grandfather of those four...Nearco. He was an Italian horse who was undefeated in 14 starts. 14 Starts was not a very defined career back in 1938, so maybe part of the problems of today can be found in this one Stallion. Like I said before, he is found 10 times in Big Browns pedigree!

  • That's a lot! 10x

  • Ian McKinley the foot specialist working on Big Brown, just changed the iodine solution that he is using to treat Big Brown's abscess with. He made it stronger! I have to question, what is behind this move? Is the abscess worse than was reported? You would think that after treating it for a week it would be gone, not be requiring a stronger treatment! He has a life history of foot problems like this! If you are betting the house on Big Brown, make sure you have somewhere else to live!

  • They said they could patch it now, but since still have time they are going to wiat, till monday or tuesday... the rise in solution could just be a precaution like its close to healed lets double make sure nothing goes wrong now type of thing.. who knows!! If he is ready to go he will run, if not he wont, my guess is he will be about 97% healthy and ready to roll, barring of couse a set back or the fact its worse than what they want ppl to believe

  • BIG BROWN: A "FOREGONE CONCLUSION?"

Big Brown (1st in earnings (3 year-olds); Highest Performance Rating of all at 39.59; #4 Jockey; 4 wins 4 starts at age 3! Always in the money! Always first? A win at Belmont would equal record of Seattle Slew! "Slight" quarter crack repair!!?? Has won out of 20th Post Position! 106, 100.5 - Jockey is K Desormeaux

  • GO Big Brown!!!

  • aw its a bit disapointing he;ll retire soon coz its the first time Ive followed American racing (Im Irish) but if it keeps him safe thats good. And I suppose Secretariat retired at 3. I think. Im 14 so obviously Im not sure. Go Big Brown!!!!!!!!!

  • He has an extra gear.

  • he will race 2 more...the travers in saratoga and the breeders cup classic

  • I read somewhere that Big Brown is retiring after the 3 year old season. Is this true? He still has the Dubai World cup to win.

  • nope. theyre gonna retire him right after he races in the Breeders Cup.

they would race him past 3 years old but his owners are to worried about his feet.

at least he'll have an amazing last race - racing against CURLIN in the Classic.

  • agreed!

  • After the derby(and seeing my pick Pyro get crushed)I found 4 saps to bet me even up that Big Brown wouldnt win the triple crown...like taking candy from babies ,this horse is the greatest since Secretariat!

  • OMG!!!! WHAT ACCELERATION!YOU CAN'T SEE THAT MOVE FROM THE NORMAL TRACK VIDEOS! This Belmont's going to be interesting!

  • so is the Classic!

  • This is the view to see...Thanks very much!!!

  • after watching that amazing burst of acceleration, is anyone REALLY worried about the Belmont? It seems Big Brown will just likely win by more. Casino Drive won't hang. Kinda gives you chills, doesn't it?

  • A competition Vet vs. 1963 Volkswagen's, amazing! Goodbye...who-hoo!

  • Thanks for posting the blimp view! It gives me goosebumps everytime I watch him accelerate at the end. It's like he wasn't even running to begin with!

  • @ 1:45 when Kent "let's him go" it's amazing how fast he accelerates. Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

  • Wow, Just like a race car. Stepping on the gas.

  • I'm not into horse racing that much, I just mainly watch the big races, but when he launches from the pack after the final turn, that just gives you chills.

  • omg, i'm surprised the jockey didn't get whiplash from that move around the turn! great speed and thanks for the video!
