Agreed: this tests the self-control of very young kids. I don't know about you but my own self-control has changed a great deal with the years... Let's not forget that until they are 6 years old, kids' brains are functionning in a range of waves that is indicative of very low consciousness/awareness (i.e.: they are in absorption mode). All I am saying is that this test should remain trivia - not data for predictions or preselection of the elite.

when I was small I was put through a version of this, aparently I fell asleep under the table because I didn't like what was on the plate.

They talked about this in my psychology class and they commented that in another study they followed up the study and the kids that waited had better jobs and a better life in overall.. And it could be because for many important things in life you must wait if you really want to succeed, like college, good jobs, etc..

I just thought i would share this thought with you all.. Be patient and your kids will learn from you!

Why is greed a bad thing. This pretty much shows the insticts, but the boys know that if they'll wait they'll have more. If you'd see this in retrospective, it's a darn good idea. Think of agriculture, if you plant your wheat seed you'll have more, but if you eat it now, you only have that one seed. Anyway kids are retarded, and quite funny to test in ways like this
