It sounds too simple, but trust is enough to override jealousy. You lay down some simple rules, just to make each other safe. Then you just have to trust them. If you are unable to trust more then you get jealous for this person, then they are not a good partner for this. Or the far more likely thing, you have grown too attached to this person to have a polygamist relationship with them.

As for personal experience with polyamourous relationships, I don't have much but I've been in a position where I've pursued and been a pursuant, and it's a bit awkward but still OK.

If you have to be polyamourous you have to be prepared to be alone sometimes, and still be fine.
