  • did it work?

  • So exactly what do they do with the engine bells from the shuttle? Are they put into the 747? And if so, how? Are there special doors that enable them to fit it all inside? or are they followed by a cargo plane?

  • @bigbengamer Engine bells stay on the orbiter. The tail cone covers them.

  • @mach25man Yeah I see the cover on the back, It just seems like the bells would be larger than that though. It may just be a bad angle.

  • @bigbengamer Yea, a bad angle. Engines with bells are removed after every flight at Kennedy.

  • lawl mating

  • "mating" i like how nasa are always laid back and humorous about the names of there projects. makes them sound more human

  • "mating" is exactly what they are doing.

what else would you call it?

  • @acorntechnique joining, connecting, mounting, placing, concatenating.

  • @acorntechnique fair enough.

  • amplexus?

  • Nice word..

  • Conjoining. Not mating.

  • 5/5 ?? Oh lol only 6 ratings XD

  • Mating sounds best.

  • I always wondered how they got the shuttle onto the back of that 747.

    Now i know!

    Thanks for the vid :)
