He said that back in the early 90s a group of kids were having an all-night rave on his land. He got seriously pissed off with their noise & self-righteous posturing, so cut up a mix of horse tranquilliser & rat poison & posed as a dealer giving away free ecstasy/acid tabs to anyone who’d take them. Loads of the kids went to hospital, & one 18YO girl died!

@FrancescaUK70 Love and peace is all good and Sunrise was an undeniable part of that scene for sure, I really enjoyed the first two equestrian centres and Greenwich on Nov 5th '88, after that it became a bit too big and commercial for my tastes. I found the best US house music was being played at the smaller venues, at nights like RIP and Voodoo and other one-nighters around the country. @Undergroundsoundz An excellent service you provided by ID'ing all the tracks; thank you 10,000X. I would love to know though where that sample tossed on top of the Roberta Flack is from (the cheery/loony "You mean that's it?!?!!"). It makes the song to me, but is not present in the otherwise identical Steve Hurley remix I've heard in its original form so far. Probably that was just the injection of another very clever DJ from that excellent time. :-D
