  • THEY JUST WANT TO BRING GUNS IN SCHOOL!!!!!!!

  • how about this:

if you want your child to wear a uniform to school because you think that will help, then put them in a PRIVATE SCHOOL

  • Sorry but, we are not at school for the fashion show. We're are there to learn.

answer back to some of those comments...

You can express yourself freely through personality, and mainly communication.

[notice that's all they complained about]

For the failing grades, well maybe SOME students still may be failing, however, i'm 100% sure others have risen to the standards of earning better grades. She can't say that everyone is still failing.

    Anyways, I loved wearing uniforms.

  • I actually think a school uniform would be cool.. It kinda reminds me of an anime :D Lol

Anyways, what I find funny is that everyone is complaining about the restriction of self expression. Because if you really wanted to express yourself that badly, then you'd do it through personality.. not through clothes and hair and makeup. :S So that excuse is pretty much out the window.. Another thing is that if you didn't have a uniform, how much time do you think you'd be spending to get ready? ----

  • @selinastormr cont'd

What if you take up the whole morning to get ready? You'd either run late or choose to skip breakfast and deprive your brain of energy. Then you'd have a harder time thinking straight during school. A uniform also can allow you to not care about how you look / become less self conscious because everyone looks "exactly" the same. So you can focus more on trying to learn something rather than getting distracted with how people are looking at you :/

    but that's just my opinion

  • @selinastormr yeah but in real life, if you don't live in japan, uniforms look hideous

  • I kind of want to wear school uniform. I think it would be kinda cool.

  • its not only about self expression i come from a family of 5 children and i t costs us over 500 dollars thats alot of money for clothes because the fucking scchool system is to fucking weak to enforse the rules NO UNIFORMS like if your with me

  • I agree. I've worn uniform to school my whole life, and I'm actually switching schools just so I can wear what I want. I think uniform is honestly really stupid, what happened to freedom of expression? Well we cant express ourselves when we all wear the same shit, its idiotic and pointless. I feel like a doll, thats dressed and and made to look a certain way because thats 'normal and appropriate.' I dont feel like myself with dress codes, it makes me feel like i'm in jail.

  • that girl was right - there's still competition with the clothes. if your not wearing a ralph lauren polo, your apparently lame.. why should public school students have to wear uniforms; maybe elementary & middle school, but high school? the goal of uniforms is basically so everyone "looks the same" and there are "less distractions" but if anything, especially in a public school, no one is gonna look the same...

  • @puzzake but don't a lot of schools provide the uniforms?

  • @xPiNKyHEiDix see that's the problem - i go to a public school & they dont provide uniforms so people just get them from anywhere.

  • Most kids just care about wearing their skinny jeans and their element shirts when they don't even skateboard, bmx, or blade. I skate and I see posers everyday i skate in basketball shorts and I don't care and brittish school uniform looks badass it's that american uniform just looks so gaaaay.

  • seriously.....it's just clothing, put it on and deal with it...

  • "self-expression" is a bullshit excuse! you just want to dress like dumbfuks with your short skirts and baggy pants. you think that shit is going to fly when you're older? think again. these kids are INCREDIBLY naiive and certainly in for a rude awakening when they enter the job market. i wish i was their parents so i could tell them to shut the fuck up and just follow the rules, because they are the reason teenagers are stereotyped- and some of those sterotypes aren't even that far-fetched.

  • @mandycheescake agree.

  • fuc school, fuc uniforms, fuc government. it's all bull

  • uniform doesnt improve anything or decrease anything its just another reason 4 the teachers to nag at you seriously my teachers at school want us to look smart all the time so they tell us to tuck our shirts in and if we dont wear our uniform properly they give us a detention. A DETENION just for not wear something in a certain way

  • ...express your individuality? I mean, that should be done with what is really important - the brain! How fickle and superficial can one be to express oneself through clothing??? Stupid kids, lift yourself up and worry about what really matters! There are enough proles in the society already!

  • This video and other videos against school uniforms all prove one thing and one thing only. SCHOOL UNIFORMS DO NOT MAKE A SHIT LOAD OF SENSE! PERIOD!!!!

  • If you want your kids to be uniform free go to america or any country without this policy.

P.S Do any of you think this is conspiration or something so we spent money when we already have clothes?

  • uniforms are agy and aint doingg shitt

  • They should ALWAYS require uniforms in school; that way it's about learning and not a popularity contest.

  • @fooschnikens Yeah, it's about learning NOT about clothes. Let em' wear whatever the fuck they want jeez.

Easy for you to tell someone how to dress i bet you're not in school anymore.

  • lol im one of the kids that just there im not that cool and im not a geek but im ok hehe

  • god i feel sorry for kids these days, they just look like a bunch of robots wearing these stupid uniforms.

People need to stop bending over for the government!

  • uniform dont help prevent gang stuff THE ONLY WAY YOU SEE kid being in a gang is the tattoo on the kid like pitbull, blood and brown pride

  • lol 0:32 gangzta chain

  • WOOT WOOOT im THE KID TATS JUST THEIR LOL well sorta lol

  • "There are the cool kids and the not so cool kids and the smart kids and the kids that are just...there."

    lmfao agreed

    inuyashaandkagome222

  • we wear uniforms 2,we r in high skool & cant wear the clothes we want 2 wear, thats sad,we have been in skool all these years learning about our rights and now they wont let us use them, what kind of shit is that?!?!?

  • looove this video. im soooo against uniforms and hey're thinking about putting my skool in them next year, any advice??

  • start a petition

  • "There's cool kids, not so cool kids"

That kid has alot of growing up to do. =]

  • Uniforms never work

school boards only enforce them to stop student expression

  • The thing is, we haven't heard from most of the people from most of the schools so we only have a confirmed 328 signatures for the petition.

  • wow you guys have to wear that gay ass blue! xD at least we got black white and gray...but yeah..im all for this..

  • The idea of making everyone exactly the same is literally impossible, and no matter what you make us wear it'll never change the fact that there are differences between people, and it's not going to change your world-view.

A polo and khakis can't do that

Enforcement of the rules set in place

    That have worked for years

    Will work

Not the shameless debasement of student rights

  • What they say in this vid is so true, people are still failing and it's not because they're focused on what they're wearing. People are still fighting and it's not, but sometimes, about what they're wearing. These uniforms have done nothing but make students more uncomfortable in school. You're are supposed to learn how to express yourself and not just follow the crowd, which is exactly what they're forcing us to do.

  • Yes, right now you may be thinking that these uniforms are not working, but give it time. There are PLENTY of schools around the nation where after about 2 years, they saw a complete turn around. In Long Beach, CA, they have seen a 72% drop in school violence and discipline issues in the first two years. No matter what is changed, you will hardly ever see the benefit right away. Give it time.

  • There's not only a difference in every school, but a difference in every individual's behavior. There isn't going to be a complete turn around, because no one's following it and its only making everyone more agitated. How much you wanna bet?

  • Great video. I an only wish the students in our district had your courage.

  • yea man... git these uniforms outta here... they're not stopping anything... its too cold 4 polos in tha school n e way...

  • awesome vid. and you said you couldn't find enough people pfft

  • The drive to force students to wear uniforms is ultimately coming from industry, which is looking for uniform workers, with uniform attitudes, uniform opinions. They want people to be replaceable parts for their industrial and imperial machine. Real democracy is an obstruction to their plans, so they will try to undermine it in any way they can. News site on school uniforms: Schema-Root org /school_uniforms (add the dot, subtract the spaces, include the underline). - John Tinker

  • Mr Tinker,

I must thank you and your family for the long enduring precedent of student speech you forged so many years ago.

    Laura DePinto

  • All of you students are more rational that most school boards when they decide to develop uniforms-but beware; usually boards have already made up their minds and are acting on religious fervor, not fact, research, ideals, or rationality; they are responding emotionally to their own failures and blaming students. In Nashville, the district appointed a committee to "study" the problem--100% favored the policy. They never studied it; they only plotted how to shove it through. Good video!

  • this was good video, thanks for making it. it sums up the opinion of the policy very well.

  • i love this video....hopefully it will be one step closer to erasing the uniform policy altogether

  • That covers mostly everything. I think this is really good and hopefully, it will help.

  • This says pretty much everything.

  • I miss you. :[

  • I miss you too Caitlin!

What's your stand on the uniforms forced upon us Pitt County kids?

  • This whole uniform thing is stupid. You guys should just have stricter enforcement of the dresscode.

  • this video is great for the process of eliminating the uniform policy. i think it says just about everything.

  • Go PCSASU! I really we're successful and that Project PCSASU is a sucess.

  • Maybe they should hold an open forum and send notices to ALL parents and students. Have a vote of ALL parents, not just those on the school board.
