I have both the Samsung galaxy 10.1 and the iPad 2 and I still regret the day that I wasted my money on a Samsung product, but that's only my opinion, Samsung could one day outsmart apple, but for now I'm sticking with the best.

I totally disagree with 3D being a fad. It's simply in it's toddler stage, give it some time and it will get better. For a while people didn't care about screen resolution either and now if it's not 1080p forget it. Tv's can only get so clear before we will realize the next step is for the picture to pop out. In a few years 3D will be just as good and important as the 1080p resolution we expect. tv's are horrible for 3D, try monitors. 3D really comes down to screen size and distance from screen.

@bigcp500 the devices you mention might have more power but they have nothing to back it up... they are lacking in app support and i tried using some androids and found it a little sluggish. maybe it will change but for now Apple is on top because of apps and developer support.

HP did fail with the touch pad but the savvy consumers who bought one in the fire sale are top 5 winners! I now have a 32gb high end tablet that has both web os and android installed. I can choose which to use. Basically I got a dual boot tablet that is as good or better than iPad for only 150$! Now with Android 4.0 arriving soon...Apple can suck the Touchpad's nuts!

The PlayBook is the best tech of 2011. It was expensive and had the email integration missing at launch time, but , nevertheless, it have, by far, the best, and most intuitive operational system of all. Point to Blackberry!

And Droid 2... you mean the baby brother of it's far superior predecessor that Motorola Droid? Sure it's got slightly better specs, but it was a massive disappointment. I was doing more with my Droid than most people on their Droid 2's even knew was possible unrooted, much less rooted.

1. Electric cars will never take off. The tech was outdated years ago. It takes hours to charge & guess the chaos when streets are full of cables. Fuel cells are the way forward.

2. How did Apple make cloud "mainstream?" It's been around & in full use for years.

3. Actually the iPad also falls into the list given they are "things only a fanboy would buy." Tablets are completely pointless. They sit between a smartphone & laptop but do neither. It's just a glorified web browser with games.

We need a breakthrough by means of another initiative, and yes, hydrogen fuel cells seems like it will be the suitable alternative.

iCloud?! Really?! iCloud just came out and it is a replacement to MobileMe and iCloud works great! It has saved me countless times because it syncs calendars, contacts,... And it makes automatic iPhone and iPad backups! Without that I would have lost everything on my iPhone when I needed to restore it! So iCloud is far from being a disappointment!

If the Xoom was such a failure then why did CNET name it Best of CES in 2011? It's true that it sales didn't match targets, but in many ways it's still the best tablet on the market... until the quad core Asus tablet and the coming Nexus tablets are released. The iPad STILL doesn't support flash. Steve Jobs is dead. Let's face it, Apple's market share in every category is going nowhere but down.
