You're talking about a product sold in a market economy. The same market economy, by the way, that has convinced people to routinely spend $1.50 for a bottle of WATER. People will buy stupid crap if you market it to them; there are too many examples to count. Drug companies are playing the game like everyone else. Want to take generic imitrex and an Aleve? Good for you for being so clever. But for the love, stop acting like you've uncovered some dastardly plot.
Up yours pal! Have you ever had a migraine? Let alone suffer from them daily? You think we like having to take topiramate and having it restrict our life-styles? Some of us don't have a choice and have to get what is formulated to help us deal with our pain. Tell ya what pencil-neck, when you can make a video describing exactly what it feels like to have a migraine, then you can point the finger. But until then, shut your bitch ass up!
Treximet is the best anti-migraine medicine I've ever taken. Naproxen and Imitrex combination doesn't work for me. They obviously did something to the Treximet to make it work . Maybe adding blue to it or something.
Why do you all have to be assholes? Obviously dont have a CLUE what a migraine is. The kid/guy doesnt have a life, same as me, Due to the agonizing pain of migraines.
He is passionate about drugs that make us have a somewhat normal life but we cant get the drugs for that.
So yea shut up and go play with your balls as someone said in more words than that,
This is an excellent video (well organized and accurate) to present to anyone up to high school age (at the latest). However, I would be concerned if anyone over 18 learned anything about pharm companies from this video--There are numerous combo drugs of 2 generics or more.
This was almost like watching a 5 year old doing a presentation on the Santa Claus Deception. Not to offend the creator of this video. I think the content was appropriate for his age, and the organization better

it kind of looks like you have a thomas the tank engine pillow on your top bunk, could i convince you to switch to tranformers pillow covers, if you knew that it would had side effects of
a. getting little to no more pussy than you already do.
b. optimus prime kind of sounds like a a pharmaceutical.
c. please, don't fall for this, go outside, pick up a baseball, or a football, or kick a goddamn tetherball, for christssake kid! this video alone is proof why kids grow up and abuse pharmaceuticals!
Most of the R&D budgets of the big pharmaceutical companies goes into slight development of minor variants of drugs which already exist, with the goal of producing a new copyrightable drug with the least effort possible. Some of these new drug variants may actually work better for some things, but the overall the venal practices of Big Pharma are shameful. While there are clearly some exceptions, the best rule of thumb is:

Get back in your bunkbed! You don not have all the facts. They are NOT the same. It's quick-release Imitrex (not available as generic) combined with a slow-release naproxin. Learn to read all the facts before you READ an opinion (probably written by your old man who owns stock in generics) like this. You do as muc a disservice as that you claim against GSK; who btw did not develop Treximet, POZEN did...
"TREXIMET contains sumatriptan (as the succinate), a selective 5-hydroxytryptamine1 (5-HT1) receptor subtype agonist, and naproxen sodium, a member of the arylacetic acid group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)."
"quick release"? What are you talking about? They're the exact same thing.
The rebranding and slight reformulation of such money makers is actually a very very common ploy to continue sales of a medicine which is about to have it's patent expire.

Another thing they do is create drugs with similar actions but different chemical makeup. Anything to keep them patents.

@philsie From Treximet's FDA prescribing info:
