  • TEAMWORK FISH! TEAMWORK!

  • are those moontails? They're freaking huge

  • the lobster is like i want some

  • do they need proper water care? as in the heater, and the temperature (the yabbie)?

  • The info I read that seemed the most credible said that Australian crayfish needed warmer temps while US crayfish preferred colder water. I don't recall the temp; I just kept mine at 70 -the house heat (we have a newer system) was almost enough to keep the water warm and even. It also said they need well oxygenated water. And they may not need GREAT conditions but they need decent ones. I'd use a filter. -So, if I get what you might be asking, you'd need full tank set-up to be safe.

  • How big was this tank

  • very cool

  • haha

MINE, hey ,hey, MINE, get away!

  • What kind of plant is that? Thats nice

  • MEAN crayfish or whatever that thing is. lol

  • Mean for food XD She was always so hungry! Probably why she grew so fast. Funny thing is- She actually never tried to hurt the fish.. (and then I separated them before she was large enough to really do anything.) I think she was just worried about them stealing her food from her XD

  • big crayfish

  • i had no idea bamboo could be sumerged like that?

it gives the tank a unique look

    does it do well underwater?

  • Mine didn't do very well at all. (But, then again, I suck with plants) I think I've seen people with it in their tanks and it looks bigger and healthier - but, when I thought about it, I wouldn't be able to tell you if they grew it in their tanks or grew it outside of the water and then placed it in when it got bigger. I'm sure you might be able to google some info on it though.

  • what sizes is yur tank

  • That's a 3 gallon Eclipse tank in the video, the one she's in now is mentioned in the description and is a 20 gallon

  • Wow!! It is a red claw crayfish!! I really want to have that crayfish. How did you get this Austrailian crayfish in america?

  • There's a pet store, (a privately owned one, not a chain store like Petco/Petsmart,) in the next town over that has a lot of more unusual fish and other water critters.

  • World Question

    How big can it grow?

How many years can it live?

How do you tell if it is a male or female?

What it is the difference with a blue crayfish and dull brown crayfish?

    Is it Poisonous?

    What does it feed on?

  • 1)I'm not 100% sure on species I have, but I believe that it is the kind that is said to grow to around 6-7 inches 2) I'm not 100% sure. Most places say it's only about 2-3 years: but I doubt that has to be true, I'm sure they can live to be older 3) Males have an extra set of back legs 4)There are tons of species. Some come in both blue and brown (blue means they're lacking a certain gene) The coloration can be a result of specialized breeding 5) No; probably yummy 6) Anything and everything

  • so females have no back legs??and males doo???

  • may i ask your feeding time for your grayfish?

  • Not lookin too blue...

  • It's REALLY young here. They get bluer as they age. She's all blue now, but not as bright as they get, I think it's because she's a girl.

  • How come when i got mine, it was allready blue and it was only a baby?

  • Might be a slightly different kind, might have been bred to have better color, might have been raised in better conditions- dunno, the list could go on for a while. But they are so pretty when they're really blue, aren't they?

  • arent u worried the lobstr will kill one of the mollies i saw ur lobster go for the one mollies a few times?

  • I wasn't too worried either way; I considered them disposable when I put them in there. When the crayfish got bigger it got moved into it's own tank, alone, and the platties were moved into a community tank. It was actually chasing them away from the worms. If it had known it could have eaten them I think it would have- at that point it felt it's food threatened by them more than considering them food. Now that it's grown I think the tables would be turned.

  • You tank is way too small for that lobster, it will grow to about 25cm.

  • Thanks, you are correct :) I figured out, pretty quickly right after I got her, that she would get way too big. The pet store people seemed quite misinformed. So this was a temporary arrangement; I bought her her own, with a nice heater and other stuff to make a crawfish happy. She's been in that one for months now, like the description said would happen, and the two platties are in another 20 gallon. She's about 7 inches now, and even produced eggs :0 Neat little creature.
