@DrsJacksonn I totally agree with you. The underlying chords change right before that point and then those bends interact so well with those chords it gives you the chills! BTW you wouldnt have those bending problems on an electric guitar. Acoustic strings arent meant to be bent, in fact most people insist you cant even get a full-tone bend on an acoustic which means that all of your bent notes on acoustics are a tiny bit flat. Just bite the bullet and get a cheap electric. Cont'd below
@DrsJacksonn go pawn something if you have to. You wil have so much fun with an electric guitar. You'll find that if you listen to blues records (especially Albert King) those guys are bending up to 2 or 2.5 tones with no snap!
Say MrBangor, I've got an important question. Indeed, I'm about to follow your advice of buying a beginner electric guitar set one of these days, but first I'd like to ask another something.
See, I've been practising a number of electric pieces on an acoustic guitar. Obviously, all of these pieces (like the Concrete Jungle solo) involved bending, which would always snap my strings. And the vibratos even damaged the coil around my G-string.
Do these problems occur with electric guitar strings?
It's this guitar piece that got me into playing guitar. I've now got over.... 3 weeks of online beginner lesson experience. And I know... 2 noob songs. I'd like to see you try and keep up with that.
hey thanks for the kind comment. Yeah i still wonder why wayne never really seemed to break through to the mainstream, and no one even seems to know that he did these.
anyway no that was a squier hot-rodded tele right off the shelf from Daddy's Junky Music. It has three pickups with a mini humbucker in the neck... basically all of the tones of a strat and a tele and a little humbucking too... they sell for like $299... i traded it for somthing before i realised what i had now i wish i didnt
i dont really have any tabs... you might be able to find something that gets you close on ultimate guitar. if you check out my instructional vid on my channel that goes along with this solo i think it will help you.
thank you for the kind words. That Skazoomba guy sent me an email asking for a tutorial as well and i have slacked on it for like two months. I am about to get a new camera tomorrow and I'm on vacation for the next week so look for a lesson on my channel within the next week or so.
To me it´s really the three bends near the end that make this guitar piece.
You know, the ones at 0:45.

Is there a certain technique you used to sustain certain notes (like the very high one at the end)?

That was excellent. I'd give up either of my testicles to be able to play that guitar piece.

@MrBangor
Junior Marvin played the guitar solos on the album "Natty Dread".
Yes, Wayne Perkins did that amazing, atmospheric solo on "Concrete Jungle".
