@tadaka95 Done it!! I noticed that the ipsw file was named iPhone1%2C1_3.1.27D11_Restore.­ipsw so I changed the % sign to a , (comma).

I then ran it as administrator in XP compatibility mode and it worked a treat!

Hey, Ive jail broken my Iphone 3G On the 3.1.3 firmware and i have installed UltraSn0w onto it so that it unlocks the phone. However when i press restart springboard the loading circle doesnt go away, i left the phone like that for about an hour and nothing happen, i restarted the phone and it said that ultrasn0w was installed on the iphone but the phone was not unlcocked? please help? thanks :)

@JakeKuro it is possible that you jailbroke it but did not unlock it. You have to jailbreak your phone in order to unlock it. Once unlocked, you can use any sim. (as long as the phone company you are using has service in the area... even then you should be able to roam if they aren't around. so yeah! unlock it.)
