The last airedale my family had didn't have a docked tail. It's kind of odd when you're used to seeing short tails on the dogs but he was a good dog.

no the tail hasnt been docked. its not a mix my airedale hasnt had his tail docked because its illegal now as hes not a working dog.

@erw12w where are you that it is illegal to dock a dogs tail? I have never heard of that ever. Many dogs such as English Springer Spaniels, Doberman's and so many other breeds have their tails docked for many different purposes and if it's done at a young age it is not cruel at all.

Lovely video. My Airedale does yoga and our now passed on Leon, was the king of Yoga. This is a purebred Airedale with a recessive gene which is why his saddle is a bit more abundant in the black. We see quite a few of those in some areas of the US. Lovely girl!!!

I've never seen an Airedale with a natural tail. It looks so odd too me. I love Airedales, and I can't wait to see my Murphy again.

Looks like a purebred Airedale to me, just an undocked tail and sorry to say, a really bad haircut. Cute dog though, just needs a good groomer.

One of my favorite things about our 2yr old Airedale is that he is truely the family dog. He is attached to all of us equally and seems to prefer no one in particular. All other animals we've had in the past have always ended up being more one persons pet.

Molly is adorable!! She has the same kind of woolly soft coat as my Airedale Sunshade! These are the best breed of dogs!

Sunshade and her friend Bogart both have blogs that they update with videos and pictures. Should come and have a look, maybe Molly needs one too!

I own a purebred Airedale without a docked tail. I'm familiar with the breed standard. This is a mix. Still a cool dog.

That IS an Airedale. The only difference is the Airedale has a "sheep coat" instead of the wiry coat. So the colours are a lot lighter and the ears are darker than normal coated Airedales. I would know, I own a sheep coated Airedale, as well as her normal coated nephew. It runs in some bloodlines, just like how you can get long coated shephards. It's a recessive gene.
