whats more efficient diesel or gas cars? "In principle a diesel engine is more efficient than gasoline, a lot more efficient. Burns at a higher temperature, doesnt idle, doesnt have idleing losses that gasoline have. New diesel cars in europe tests a 0-10% more energy efficient. But because diesel has more CO2 per unit of energy than gasoline they tie. You not getting a CO2 improvement.". On top of that Gasoline cars have had improved efficiency 14% in while diesel only 7% in the last 12 years.

This is the US-centric view of the world. If you catch a train in Switzerland or France you will find yourself on a train with a cgenerally polite and pleasant cross-section of society, and traveling in comfort on a modern train, with less stress and more reading/resting time than being stuck in an LA traffic jam. I've done both, I'll take the European train. If Europe can do it,l is the USA incapable of matching or exceeding this? What happened to the US "can-do" attitude?

stanford is a somewhat conservative university.

mass transit is crucial for cities like NYC and Chicago. People in California love their cars and will wrongly rationalize in order to justify its use.

ok, the mass pucblic transportation can save tons of fuel.But why are the people on public transportation always rude and even ass holes?. I'd take my scooter in anyday no matter how cold or rainny day. I'm sorry the earth, but I don't like anykind of public transportation

Another CO2 nut case. Warming is GOOD people. It allows more land area to be farmed to feed more people.
