  • hey! i was thinking of making a bin cage but this looks alot better and it is also BIG and yeah.. but how do u clean it? does the buttom come off or something? =D it costs 49euros in my country.. and a plastic bin cage costs..around 15-30euros.. i was thinking which one would be a better choice? this 20gallon long tank or around 40-60litre plastic box for 3robos?

  • @Haoriochi 2robos*

    sorry

  • @Haoriochi and btw this idea was awesome, coolest tank ive seen

  • @Haoriochi ... god i fail, didnt mean the 20gallon tank i meant the detolf.. sorry for this spamm :P

  • @Haoriochi I've definitely loved having the detolf. Having a cage this large, cleaning is VERY rare. Right now, I have 4 gerbils in the detolf and haven't cleaned it since November and there is still NO smell. It also looks like a great piece of furniture that you can be proud of when company is over, and I feel that that would not be true for a bin cage.

  • @BFarnsey alright thanks, im probably gonna get one of these then, but, you could be proud of a bin cage too, you would spend alot of time making one and stuff, but i was just concerned about the hamsters not seeing that well out of a plastic bin cage, since its a bit ?shady? yeah but they cant see much anyway and when u put them in to one of the bin cages they cant see out almost at all. im getting 2robos and if they start fighting i can separate them with the glass thing,so thats a good thing.

  • @Haoriochi and it will turn out to be 2 cages! woo!

  • Agreed!!!

  • This is why I wish I had room in my pokey apartment for a Detolf! So unfair lol.

I love how the fighting brothers stop and look around all nonchalant as soon as you catch them ;P

  • How much was the detolf?

  • @kisses0114 About $70. Not too shabby for an epicly sized cage :)

  • Great cage! Thank you for the tour! I'm considering making one out of a Detolf as well :D

  • @OrangePurpleGray I definitely recommend it! It fits into the style of any house and looks neat and professional instead of those multi-colored plastic cages. Plus, there's just so much space!

  • do you needs a top on those to stop them getting out

  • @thuggie1 For hamsters, not really. Not as long as there's nothing for them to climb high on so they can jump out. I now have 4 gerbils in the detolf and they certainly needed a top! We had two escapes before I finally finished it!

  • Did your hammies made it? They were fighting pretty hard.

  • @ShinyHunterExtreme Oh goodness yes! They currently cuddles in a hidey together. They were just having some sibling rivalry.
