hey I would like the name of this song please I've been trying to find the name of this song and i can't find it any where. plz send me the name of this sing thank you!
In English, 1. bless/exorcise bride/groom 2. bow parents 3. bless bride with feast after 3days 4. seek/send mediators to wedding ceremony 5. have lunch midway to bride's house 6. perform wedding ceremony 7. return/thank all participants. Subsets are in each phase but they are the main ones.
Stopping to rest and have lunch on the way to the bride's house is another KEY element of Hmong wedding. Too long detailing but is inquired of at mediation. For all you Hmong I will list all the main phases of the traditional wedding. 1. Lwm sub/qaib 2. Ua niam txiv tsaug 3. hu nyab plig, a must after 3days 4. thov/tsa mejkoob mus ua tshoob 5. noj su 6. hais/ua tshoob 7. rov tsev/ua tsaug
I'm sorry to hear that. Whether it's within the Hmong culture or elsewhere, marriage is supposed to bring everyone closer to each other. You should spend a moment to reflect on how you feel and share your emotions with your sister.
aww, what a very cute couple and thank you so much for sharing with us the whole wedding. i havent been to a hmong wedding for awhile. dont really know the steps anymore,
Im writing an essay about hmong weddings and this is a great illustration of it. You are missing something thou, it is the Midway Meal. I remember when i was a brides maid, we had to stop halfway to have a meal...i dont know ifs thats important but that is also in the hmong tradition.
Actually, you are quite correct. If you're writing an essay on a Hmong traditional wedding, don't forget the meals consumed while traveling to and from the bride's home. Though not an important part of the wedding, it is an essential element that needs to be present. I wish I could have gotten that... but I couldn't. Maybe in future weddings. Other than that, I'm almost certain that I have everything else. Thanks for your comment.
@uanejtsaug No, it is a important part of the hmong wedding, thats why church people don't do it when they married a bride from a old traditional family .
@Phaythful Now that you mentioned it, I remember earlier this year I saw this happening. I went to Merced to visit a few friends and they wanted to go to Chico to visit some girls. We stopped at the first rest area (forgot what's it called) past Winton to wait for my friends to catch up and use the restroom since we went in 2 cars. It was raining hard and while we went to use the restroom, we saw some Hmong people dressed up in Hmong clothes. I was thinking, "Wth? It's not New Year Yet." We came
@Phaythful out and saw others coming from a car and bringing food and were about to eat. My friend then said that they're about to go to a wedding. I didn't understand how Hmong weddings go so I was like yeah ok lol. I need to start learning because soon I might be getting married haha.
@Phaythful actually it is a important part of the hmong traditional wedding. Your suppose to eat the food before entering the bride house and on the way back. Something about bad spirits.
Wow....that was awesome. From the beginning till end of the wedding. Congratulating!
