@Excpired I'm not a Jewish person. I have to say I once thought like many Christians on the topic of Talmud, but have since had a change of mind. My current belief is that Talmud contains the only remaining rulings made by the Mosaic court and should therefore be studied with great reverence and sincerity. I can't say I agree that Moses received two Torahs complete, but that when the people asked "How?" Moses asked G-d and G-d said "this is how"

I respect anyone who chooses to leave "christianity". I don't believe in rabbinism, because they read the Tanach thru their Talmud teachings following men's traditions like "praying when washing one's hands" when there is no indication of this in the Torah. Talmudism is way beyond Biblical Judaism. Yeshua ben Yosef, was a Jew, altogether with all his Jewish followers. The problem here is assuming that Yeshua is not Messiah thanks to Rabbinism. Wrong!

@homemarketer61 The Talmud is not man made. It is the Oral Law written down. The Oral Law was given at the same time the Written Law was. And the Jews rejected Jesus before the Talmud came into being. The Talmud is not to blame.

@revacohen Well there are things within the Talmud that weren't with the Oral Law. The conversations between Rabbis for one. What Christians fail to understand is that God tasked the priesthood with preserving Judaism and preserving the spirit. The Talmud is like a guide to the Torah, a gathering of all the knowledge of Jews over the ages to learn the Torah with them. The Oral Law portion (that explains rituals, etc) is a valid piece of Gods word and you can't interpret that any other way.

@Excpired Just as an example, when God tells us to celebrate holidays, or to wear tefillin, he doesn't say how. Thats because these things were passed down to the priesthood to preserve and tell to the community, these things are contained within the Talmud. What people don't seem to understand is that Jews don't look at everything written in the Talmud and say that it is divine because a lot of it is theology debates/discussions between Rabbis who contradict each other. God doesn't contradict.

In fact the two religions are total complete opposites in all their foundational doctrines and beliefs. Nothing Christianity has now comes from Judaism whatsoever, it comes from paganism. My question wasnt to get him converted back to Christianity. It was to see if he was a Jew who believes in Jesus or not. To say the two religions are complete opposites, well, respectfully, I believe that is a pretty disconnected view. BOTH have Babylonian/Pagan influences. @democast Absolutely correct. I was baptised Christian but grew up in a Jewish "Brady Bunch" family starting at age 14. We had a large extended family with aunts, uncles, cousins and their wives, ex wives and children. And we had all manner of religions pursuasions etc. in my family- orthodox, reform, athiests, Bhuddists, secular, messianics, etc. And it was lovely as ALL were accepted. @democast Actually I am pretty sure one of the noahide laws is that you have to believe that God exists. However, Judaism does accept the righteous among all nations and not just Jews. Christianity requires you to accept Christianity, and if you don't you burn in an eternal hell. Also Judaism doesn't have a concept of an eternal hell, there isn't enough scripture to support such a place.

Regarding hell, there's very little in the Tanakh that mentions an afterlife. I've heard some Jews mention Gehinom, which from my understanding is a temporary hell (much like Catholic purgatory) where your soul isn't tormented, but rather purified.
