I got it from my english - japanese phrasebook. I dunno about the o in otanjobi, but for what I know the "u" in gozaimas"u" is silenct. o_O ?

The 'o' is optional but most will use it because it is Grammatically correct. You are typing the word 'gozaimasu' so you still have the 'u'. Yes the 'u' is silent in most Japanese words with the exception of 'sumanasai' and a few other words. Im pretty sure I learned most of my Japanese from Gimmeabreakman who has lived in Japan for seventeen years. You should look up some of his Japanese instruction videos you can learn a lot.
