The farther back you go, the more that american movies were meant for american audiences. Amusing, then, that Bruce Willis was born in West Germany and Milla Jovovich in Kiev, USSR (at the time). Watching this, they probably felt the protagonists were very all-american - or maybe just Bruce Willis, with his goody tough guide routine.
Although the trailer did gain points for having a decided lack of Chris Tucker...too bad the movie failed to follow the example. I like the Fifth Element, but I seriously want to suffocate that man in his sleep whenever I watch it.
The Fifth Element is absolute masterpiece of SCI-FI - unique storyline, great acting and stunning visual effects. Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Gary Oldman and Chris Tucker were brilliant. One of my all time favorite films.
Pretty much one of the best movies ever made :) And I fucking loved Ian Holm in it! He was so precious, yet so hilarous :)
