I hope L4D3 will be somewhere furthur west, like in California. However, it'll be hard for Valve to come up with an explanation for how the infection spread all the way to California from Pennsylvania. Maybe a long time could pass, but that would raise too many questions about the current survivors. Possibly a second infection, originating from California or Nevada or something...?

And with swamps in the South like the one the Survivors (who are Carriers) wade around in during Swamp Fever would make a suitable breeding ground for mosquitoes, and where one or two may have bit a Survivor. Again, it's all theory and possibilty, so who knows where L4D3 will be set?
