  • Too bad laser doesn't work for young people. I've had a FOV, but my retina is damagend. My vision is wavy because of hypotony, the eye is now stabilized but I still experience visual distortions after 6 months. Hope it will get better.. I have so much fear to undergo FOV for my other eye as well, I have a lot litte floaters in that eye, but they told me laser only works for one big blob. My surgeon also told me that laser has also big riscs, because of you miss, you could burn the retina.

  • @oclaservision and is there like a time where it comes and they could say, "ok look your eye developed enough, since it floaters dont increase etc etc retinal tearing is highly unlikely" ? Also when would i start seeing an increasement of floaters, How can i prevent it, by looking at bright light more less? Preventing eye poke, resting my eye? What can i do so it doesn't develop any further, should i keep my eye warm or cold? When i wash my eyes or in shower should i be careful of water entering

  • @oclaservision It happens after 40 °C/104 °F on Extreme high UV sunlight, working for 13 hours outdoor, i realized then and i started having headache, and my eye started feeling different, like pressured and pulled the 1st-2nd day was really in pain. its 4th day now i only see 1 Floater half visible circle shaped I can ignore it, but will i go blind? If i do have retinal detachment or tearing and my vision disappears after a certain age can it be fixed via surgeries im not insisting just curious

  • @oclaservision Please answer me, I'm 18 having my first eye floater only one, black and transparent visited Optometrists, they said it not serious at this stage. However, in what period of time would they become more floaters, when would i realize the flashes and tearing, How are the flashing? Just a part of your eye or as a whole? Am i going to go blind?! I never had any problems my eye sight are fine, and everything else is fine, but after floater i got black marks on my white bit of the eye

  • It's very important that you be seen. Have you had a recent exam? Can you call the hospital or clinic to speak to a doctor or have them call. If your retina detaches you have about 24 hours. If you have a family history of this then the doctor needs to know.

  • I hate the fact that adults are crying over these floaters, and us kids from 10-18 year olds have more of life ahead of them and more to worry about. i'm 16 and has had them from a very young age, and I dont cry much over them. But I do want them removed cause its very distracting.

  • im 13, and i have had floaters for years, im in the UK so I cant have this done, but yeah, I have began to notice an increase in the amount, and i have been suffering from flashes as well. I am really worried, and I just want someone to talk to, if your around my age, and you have the same problems, please tell me! I dont know what to do, and I am worried about retinal detatchment, which means that I wont be able to see at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please, somebody speak up!

  • @EDiTzZ1998 I have had floaters since I was 8 and they have been a regular occurrence that I have dealt with for years. The flashes started when I was 29, and I am 38 now. I am very nearsighted and have seen several vitreoretinal specialist as I too am concerned about retinal detachment. I am not a doctor. My specialist told me that if I see a profusion, or lots of flashes accompanied by a shower of new floaters that I need to get to him immediately.

  • @rsprout1 i have a shower, omg i am so worried, i tell my parents but they just say "The are okay" I have had new ones, they were definetly not as bad when i was younger, and i have a black dot following my sight, but this is just dead eye cells i have been told

  • hey how much the cause for treatment? i have this too!

  • I live in Holland, and there you can have a laser treatment too. I'm 16 too. Last christmas, someone threw a snowball in my eye. From that moment I got a small black spot which moves with the moves of my eye (+a bit other black spread out around). Also sometimes my eye is still a bit of irritated. It's really anoying! Sometimes I'm so depressed :(. I really care about my eyes, I think they're the most important sense of a human. I hope there will be more solutions later on.

  • Can mine be treated? They are not that black they are pretty much gray, I'm 14.

  • I have them and I'm 14...

  • What's the price of this procedure for each eye???

  • PLease answer, Im 16 too as the guy here beneath me. Can this be treated when you are like 20 years old?

I can not see normally when I see these things.

I've been having these since i hit puberty. And i went nersighted too in my puberty.

But anyways I'm really suffering. plz respond

  • @PolleScrew me too!!! im 17 tho

  • Hello Dr. I'm 16 years old and have 2 years when I have floaters in my eyes I'm young but do you care for youth 16 years who suffer from this disease?

  • I have the same problem and seriosly there always there no matter whdt they will not go away it's just really irritating to me because i feel i can't see as good as i need to.. is there one in Illinois

  • where in new york i can find a doctor tha do laser treatment for floater can someone tell me

  • Oh Thank you for your quick reply.

  • I have floaters I can only see them when the room is not totally bright nor dark. They are just floating spots. Do they affect your vision?

  • how much does it cost for floater treatment?

  • Gime this laser. gime, I need it.

  • CORRECTION: I have epiretinal membrane for a year in one eye, and my vision went from 20/30 to 20/70 in 4 months. I'm 56 y/o.

  • I have epiretinal membrane for a year om pme eye, and my vision went from 20/30 to 20/70 in 4 months. I haven't had surgery for them, however, if I do, and they remove the vitreous humor, will that end the floaters? I'm very frightened of getting the surgery. My MD is at UCSF, and I've gone to Johns Hopkins and Will's Eye Institute, and all the MDs think it's an easy procedure.. The surgery may be a success, but it doesn't mean I'll see better, yes? I have floaters in both eyes, too.

  • Usually the floaters that young people have are difficult to treat or can't be treated at all. There are exceptions of course.

    Dr. J

  • @oclaservision i have them...and im 16...is there any way i can naturally get rid of them or medication...because i don't think this treatment is available in the uk

  • @oclaservision Why they can't be treated ? Whats the difference ? I first notice I've got them when I was 12 but there was only one, and now by time there are much more.

  • i have a huge floater in my right eye and its been there for i year now. its so bad its hard in school and such and im only 16

  • me too and im only 16 2 :(

  • man help i have a Floater in my eye

    and is 4 years ago

help man help what i need to do

bit is not big is little but is sux!!

  • that sounds awful dude and must be annoying to have! did u get a check-up from a eye-doctor or ANYBODY that can help?

  • you can't do shit we both live in israel :( reletively crappy medical system compared to the rest of the (serious aka 1st) world. when some dude will qualify for this shit he will charge in todays money about 30K probably and fuck up once while burning the retina of his patients...

frankly we only got family doctors due to immigrants from the SU in the 80s 90s....

anyway wait a while this will be more commom procedure it only hurts you if you try to ignore it too hard.

  • Does it hurt afterwards? Are there any side effects.
