I can't wait to get my V2 Jekyll & Hyde. I often hear that Boss pedals are built like a tank, I've owned some and most of them aren't bad, but like a tank - no.
Effects reviews always contain the "built like a tank" cliche for a sturdy pedal. Now Visual Sound has raised the bar to something scientifically-provable in the realm of burliness. They'll have to start saying "... and you can run a van over it." Amen.
Well, that's not the only reason we made the V2 Series, but it makes for a fun video. There's also noise reduction added to the models that needed it, hand-wired jacks (including the DC jack now), circuit protection so they can't get blown up by the wrong adapter, and custom designed switches rated at 10 million hits. All of that is new with the V2 Series pedals. - Visual Sound
I ran into Bob last week at my work (I'm a server), and told him I love what VS is doing and that the Open Road is the drive I've waited my whole rhythm-playing life for... He was very nice and said it's his new favorite too.
I dig the V2 series, don't plan on running over them. Cool how the raised frame protects the switches. I will have to remember this when I do reviews on them for reliability, build like a tank needs to to be replaced with a truck can run over them.
You music people are weird.

So the reason for the new v2 series was people at gigs were driving trucks over their pedalboards...?
