Thanks. I just returned from 2 weeks in January. It still looks much the same, although there are a few new restaurants. Sundowners is still the place!
This video brought a huge smile to my face, thank you so much. My boyfriend was a scuba diving instructor there and I visited last summer. We lived right across from Sundowners- now I'm dreaming of the beautiful water and a cold monkey la-la in hand. Ahhh... thank you for the memory. =)
There is no value in this video. You can show boring streets and building sites and empty restaurants of even the most luxurious islands. I don't know what the reason was to make this video, but it could have shown the good food, beautiful beaches, friendly people, tropical fruits etc.
@kazuki217 Why such a negative comment? If you don't like this type of "real feel" type video, then just move on. You need not be critical. If you have an axe to grind, then go outside and grind one.
You are talking about the real feel, but what you are actually implying with your video, is YOUR negativity. I like the natural aspect of the reality of this beautiful country, but that's not what's in your stuff. Showing a promising signpost and then swinging your camera to a construction site, is no creation to be proud of.
Oh my god the beach house. God I miss this place, went to Roatan in January and it was beautiful. Aunts, uncles, and cousins are going back for 2 weeks in august just for the diving alone. What an amazing trip, I will for sure go back one day!
I went to the other side of the island... the much rougher side... for 8 days this summer. Roatan is a beautiful place, but it's sad that so many people forget about the poor and unreached people on the other side of the island. but thanks for doing this video... i really miss being there, and this helps out a lot. :)
Know whatcha mean about the poor but I noticed that a great many have grabbed themselves by the pants and improved their lives. I rode the Collective twice a day and got to see a great many of the poor both on the way to the "Hole" and in the Hole. Spending some time in Coxen Hole gives you a better picture of the various "classes". It's not easy even if you live in the states, have a college education
and work your ass off. I think it's just that everyone is condenced together in Roatan.
Yeah, some of Roatan is neat, but anyone who's lived there or invested there knows what a royal fucking is. Some of the world's best con artists live there and don't loose a night's sleep over screwing you over. BEWARE! Visit if you want...but DON'T BUY.
I have been visiting Roatan, primarily West End for 17 years. I have many good friends from West End. The only people on this island who have had a "royal fucking" are the families who have made Roatan home for generations. I agree, DONT BUY, GO HOME. Starve the con artists so that they also will go home with thier forked tails behind them.
wow - what a gift to see this video. I lived on Roatan 10 years ago. I was engaged to a local and then he died in a car accidnet and I had to leave the island quickly. Did not have many photos. This video was like seeing home again. I painted a huge mural in a coffee shop right across the street from the white church at the end of the video - could not tell if it was still there - the video ended.....
The Seagrape Plantation Resort baby! I stayed there July 2007. Great hotel, the owner is a really nice lady. I'm going there again next summer. Beautiful place, i grew attached to it.
Sundowners WAS awesome! Met the bartender there. She was roommates with the girl who got us the room next door at the Beach House. Had free drinks ALL NIGHT LONG! Was so f-cking cool of them. Had an absolute blast while my girlfriend Tina and I were there in August of 2005. Wish this video had a clip of The Black Pearl bar all the way at the very edge of town.
so quiet compare to koh tao or phi phi island

I don't recall a mural there. I believe the Marine Park office is there.

AWESOME!
You got my cousin's bar - Sundowners! (5:48)
That looked like Aaron bartending. Next time you're there, tell them Lainee says you should get a free drink!
THANKS FOR POSTING THIS!
