I'd say...the clash and the ramones were two of the bands that got me into punk when i was about 13, or 14. Im 20 now, and still love those bands. I dont want this to be a rant or off topic, but the Ramones, and The Clash were truly punk. They wernt afraid to go outside of the "punk box" and do what they wanted to do. Isn't that the idea behind punk, do what you want and how you think it should be done? Oh well. Sucks i was too old to see either band :/ Much Respect. Thank you guys.

The punk scene, as I see it nowadays, kind holds the clash to such sanctity (which is entirely understandable, I do too) that people go "well we'll never be as good as the clash" and they settle with mediocrity.

It's happening a lot, but there really needs to be a swing in mindset. We can all understand that we'll never be the clash, because only the clash will ever be good at being the clash.

I'm sure Joe would want more people to be better at being - and playing - themselves.
