@AnitraNicole And so is your mom but i aint complaining. All parrots need is some food , attention and some love and they stay quiet . iguanas are stubborn hard to train and very complicated.
how did you train him to trust you enough to pet his head a such a young age? please comment back because i just got a baby iguana and i just wanted some other peoples way of training them
i want a pet iguana ... this is i live in the caribbeaan...n heed your help .. i luv these iguanas so much,,, thik the are the coolest animals they are
hay im an iguana lover and owner i got my iguana on august 12th his name is kiwi and he is about 5 months old she he is like a baby =) they grow about 6 inches a year or more. so they get REALLY big. i have some tips for you. if you want your iguana to be nice hold him every day for as long as you can. if he scurms keep him hostige in your hands. if you dont and put him down ever time it scurms than it is teaching you to put it down. it will get used to you. kiwi is on my sholder as im typing.

I have also noticed if you look at there cheeks right around the eye area there is a circle, like just a round scale on ether side, I have noticed the males have larger ones.
an iguana has a goulag (the paper thing under its neck) and water dragons dont and water dragons have more spikes on its head iguana has them from head to tail
we are a 501c3 non-profit doing rescue and educational talks all the time, i have a bunch of iguana care videos, videos about my rescues and foster igs, check them out sometime :)
I wouldn't recommend buying lizards from pet stores like petco, petsmart, and petsupermarket. They are franchises and some store haven't got a clue on how to properly care for lizards, let alone 20+ babies in one tank. It's better to get from breeders or local pet stores that are NOT franchises. They depend on the health of the pets to pay the rent, so they pay much more attention and actually CARE.

you dont know much about iguanas,, they dont like to be touched all the time, you put into the tub, maybe he dont like it or is scared, you must give him the choice to get out of the water if he like to, the poor animal is desperated thinking is trapp in the water.
iguanas are cool. i had one that was brought from a family that abused it. they pulled off his tail and threw him around and put sandbox sand in his tank that had blood mites. he died in about a month because of those mites. they are horrible parasites to reptiles
Web searches under "iguana care" are the easiest ways to answer all of those questions but... They eat primarily vegetables and can be 4 feet long so need alot of space. They can be trained to trust being handled. I would not say they are mean but some that have come into the shelter are frightened of people and will try to strike with their tails. Biting has not been common. They make good pets for people who can make a long term commitment and can provide for their needs.
iguanas are not for begginers they get up to 7 ft and need there own room. there herbivors. sometimes they get mean. they can be voise command. they do make good pets though they need lots of heat to NO HEAT ROCKS they burn them cheak out iguana vidos from MrBinty1440
well they do make good pets but they are a it of a challenge to keep. They grow quick so u need to get them a big seup and a tank is not what they need to be housed in but more of a vivarium that u have to build bor buy for a hefty price. They are gentle giants thoguh sme do get a bit aggrtersive and they need a basking/uva bulb and vegies. If ur a first time owner i would suggest getting a smaller reptile like a leopard gecko or bearded dragons which are very beautiful and tame.
@daniellynch305 they eat fruits and veggies they can be trained they get up to 6 ft they can be trained and they do make good pets.they grow up to be at least 60 yr old
@daniellynch305 they are vegaterians they get 7 feet long yes they can be trained for almost anything they are alittle agressive when you first get them but they became great pets good luck even know that comment is 1 year old
@daniellynch305 they don't eat meat or bugs, they get 4 to 6 feet long, they can be trained to poop in the bathtub, males can be mean during mating season but all you need to do is give them space when they show irritation signs, also if you don't handle them much they will be mean, they are nice pets to have but buying one is the best idea because they sometimes turn on each other when they get older. Also they live to be 20 to 25 years old so they are also good for a long term pet.
my iguana would close his eyes when i pet his head. and would fall asleep. it was really cute. and i miss the little guy.. he got sick and there was nothing we could do for him. =/
actually its a signal for trust, if he doesn't like something he will tighten his tail muscles and bob his head. when he closes his your eyes yout supposed to close yours to show him you trust him too.
Why when something gets mad would they close there eyes? think about it...
This HASN'T been proved whether they like it or not but most lean towards that the Iguana doesn't mind it aslong as it doesn't move it's head away also. Learn your facts before complaining.
hey:) very nice video. how old is he ? I also have iguana baby half jahr is old and would know with pleasure how long it still lasts to mine this size has reached ?
I'm so glad Ronnie got adopted. I makes me want to cry when I see how these lizards are so often neglected, especially when I know firsthand the beautiful creatures they can become as adults.
I know that sometimes the first signs of sickness with the little ones is when they appear "docile", but he/she really does look like a little sweetheart.
