The real problem here is that Christianity has had many false teachers who use it for gain for financial means and not spiritual growth as it was mainly intended. That is why many people are full of disdain towards it. Not because Christianity is false but because it's been abused. So the real issue isn't the faith, it is the people who have abused the power.
